OK...I'm sh*tting myself here..... Mirena Coil fitted but....

..I still have periods pretty regularly (between 4-6wks apart). I haven't had a period since mid April. H and I had sex a few times on holiday late May.

Quite possibly the worst thing that I could think of to happen to me right now is to be pg!!! Tell me its not possible..... tell me its the stress... tell me I'm just panicking over nowt!

Its been over 8 wks now since any sign.

PS: Had the coil fitted for 18mths now.

it was hormonal - i don't know if there are other brands - this is why she said it hadn't occured to her

doctor told her it was one of the most effectinve contraceptives as he confirmed +ve test result

AP - other coils are just really 'devices' to create a hostile environment for conception. The Mirena is like that and the protection like the pill too.

don't panic - after 8 weeks a test tomorrow shouuld be accurate and put your mind at rest - the dr did also say he'd never seen it before

i havent had my period since aug last year and it is quite scary as i have to "check it up there often" to make sure its still there!

Apornstrings - I'm bloody terrified he's going to turn up here. He's been leaving messages on my phone and I got a nasty letter left on my dining room table for when I got home from work.
Well he's not here yet... so hoping he's feckin steamin and passed out.

AP - He had a ky but after he was in today and left the note he posted it through the letter box. I've got all the doors locked and the keys left in the locks so he shouldn't be able to gain access. The house is mine and we only moved in on January 27th this year..... still recovering from the legal costs of that. I can't move, I'm tied into this mortgage for 2yrs and would face financial penalties. This is shit, I'm shitting myself tonight!! Listening to every creak wondering if he's turned up.

i have a mirena coil too, fitted a year ago. have carried on bleeding as usual until recently when i went about 8 weeks with nothing. did a test just in case and it was negative. i think with the mirena, as the hormone is such a small amount it builds up over time and will eventually stop your periods so it could be that this is whats happening to you now. it depends on your own bodies hormone levels as to how long it takes before it stops them. a friend of mine stopped within 3 months of having the mirena fitted.

I think the fact he posted t eh key through is a good sign - suggests he doesn't iintend to come round. Don't beat yourself up over the smoking milarky atm either...you've got a lot on your plate. keep it under control, either as was suggested weekends, or not in front of the kids, or not in the house etc.
