Weird pregnancy behavior

Only wanting to listen to Guns and Roses. All day. (Never really liked them before)

Not wanting the other half to be more than 10 feet away from me. (Normally can't wait to get him out of the house to work.)

Throwing up or feeling like throwing up every time a certain one of my cats comes near me (I have five and love them all equally.)

Digging holes in the garden.

Nobody warned me pregnancy would make me batshit crazy.

There must be others who've started displaying some nutty tendencies.

Not giving a shit about much anymore (work, meh, study, meh, socialising, meh, what people think of me, meh) - as an anxiety sufferer and PhD student, this is a welcome relief!
Being more assertive and bossy! - weird behaviour for me, but I don't think I've gone batshit just yet... plenty of time to go (only 8 weeks)

BummyMummy77 · 22/09/2013 15:47

That's another thing! Not giving a flying crap what anyone thinks of me. I've always been so obsessed with how people perceive me. Now I burp, eat like a pig in restaurants and am nowhere near as polite.

I've lost interest in doing ANYTHING. I just want to sleep, clean and lie in the bath. (34 weeks).

You definitely have enough time to lose it. The assertiveness is really nice isn't it? It's not just you to think of anymore. :)

Crying at work, and if I cry at work I get angry at myself and cry even more. My office is a very male dominated, testosterone fuelled environment and I'm one of only 3 women in the entire place. I was warned in my interview that it was like that and that tempers could flare at times and my response was "I've worked in construction for over 5 years, it's nothing i'm not used to and I'll shout back at someone before I cry in the corner". Eating my own words now!

On a similar note my tolerance for bullshit is now non existent!! I shouted at one of the guys I work with for daring to ask me for a second time if I had heard from another colleague last week (followed by a bout of crying half an hour later)

It's all so unlike me, I'm usually so good at working under pressure and giving as good as I get, it's the first thing people would say to describe me! Now I spend 50% of my day trying not to turn into a blubbering, hormonal mess!

11 weeks and adopted a zero tolerance attitude to people who take the piss.

also enjoying the smell of the printer at work and the motorbike workshop down the road.

It does feel like somewhere inside I've just gone 'right, baby on board: don't cross me, get in my way or bother me about anything else' - whereas normally I'm a bit of a walkover Grin
I think my DH is a bit in shock and awe!

BummyMummy77 · 22/09/2013 16:29

The crying is annoying. I know it's hormonal but people's 'ah bless her' attitudes make me want to yell at them. But I just cry instead.

My dh is just living in fear of when I'm going to lose the plot next and embarrassment of my new found 'assertiveness'. Someone pulled me up for jumping a ferry queue the other day (I hadn't) and I loudly told them to 'go f@$k themselves'. Pregnancy has turned me into an unpleasant, potty mouthed psychopath.

Printers always smell nice, pregnant or not.

Usually I am excellent at containing my irritation and am a fairly pleasant, laid back type, but pregnancy makes me much more vocal. I have a son with a disability and sometimes we get tutted at because it affects how he behaves and people (mostly women In their 50s, don't know why) feel the need to tut or offer advice. I just ignore them, but feel annoyed for days after...but not pregnant me - the last person who tutted at my son got sworn at loudly. I didn't even feel bad - it was liberating!

Oh, I also get urges to clear stuff out - house will be mostly empty by the time baby arrives. It just feels so good!

Crying over adverts.....oh and on the brink of tears when I see Hayley from Corrine lol

Want to rip peoples heads off.

cathpip · 22/09/2013 19:27
