What to do to manage Carpal Tunnel discomfort?

I was diagnosed with CTS by the physio. Was given compression bandages for during the day and splints at night. Wore both for three weeks but no improvement. Gave up on the bandages but stuck with the splints at night for another couple of weeks; still using them.

It's getting worse. Quite sore tonight. Dont know what to do to manage the pain. Sad. Any tips? (am 33+3)

I was just about to start a thread on this. I'm nowhere near as bad as yours sounds to be - I'm 36+4 so it hardly seems worth referring onto a specialist now for splints etc.

I was just looking for some simple cheat exercises to ease my minor pins and needles, but I'll shut up now and be grateful for how lucky I am!

Hi ladies. I'm 37+4 and also have carpal tunnel. I've had wrist splints from physio for a couple of weeks and whilst there are pretty annoying to wear they do help me sleep. The other thing that helps is trying to sleep on my side but keeping my hands as flat as possible (which I do by putting them under my pillow flat on mattress) and trying one pillow rather than two. I'd say even if you've only got a couple of weeks left it is still worth getting splints. Every little bit of sleep now will surely help later! There are some exercises on you tube too!

I'd agree that the splints definitely help at night. If nothing else they let you relax and not worry about your hand positioning at night.... It's just the daytime that's an issue currently - not sore all the time but when it is, I don't know how to make it better...

Sorry. It's annoying I know! Like we don't all have enough to deal with at the moment!?! I imagine you know the same stuff as me - making sure you read books etc with hands below your heart, wriggle them lots, and use hand lotion to massage your fingers - but afraid I don't know others. Perhaps others do?

Oh, I didn't know about hands below the heart.... I guess lounging with mi ipad isn't helping then!! Thanks.
