SPD...Is it worth going to see the physio?

I am 31 weeks and i must admit i am suffering quite bad now, when i walk for a period of time, when i have sat for a period of time, and being in bed is hell get like really bad pressure pains in whichever hip i am laying on which means iam constantly turning over (while using the headboard lol) so i am not getting much sleep!

My right hip seems more of a problem, and each step i take it does a number of nasty sounding clicks. I have been suffering since around 15 weeks but haven't bothered going the physio because i went when i had SPD when pg with my dd, and was just given the support belt which didn't really help, so i haven't been this time at all...what else can they do though?

Prob doesn't help as by scan and fundus height the baby is measuring 4 weeks bigger, i am seeing consultant about this in Tues.

Just getting fed up now, and have a toddler to deal with too which is not helping lol.

As i said i have just got on with it up to now, so should i bother going to see physio or not? Is it worth going?

TIA

physios are fairly limited in what they can do while you are pregnant.
I found lying on the floor with my legs up on the sofa & my bottom pushed right up against the sofa really helpful.
Try to use your leg muscles as much as possible for standing.
Also try to sit on hard backed firm chairs rather than the sofa.
At night as well as putting a cushion between your knees, wedge one under your bump to, to try and take the weight off your hip & back joints.
I really feel for you, I still remember (6 & 4 yrs on) how unbelievably painful this was.

I went to a physio but didn't find them of any use.........TBH there isn't really alot they can do. I was also given an attractive "brace/girdle" which helped a little but I just became very careful about everything and slowed down loads. Walking upstiars was done "one step at a time" with both feet on the step iykwim. God I looked 80 walking upstairs, felt like it to..! Geting out of the car was done by puting both legs together and bringing them out at the same time and swinging them around. It may help by sitting on a bin bag for easier movement.

All I can say is that it didn't affect me during labour or the birth (although I did make sure mw was aware) probably because I was more aware of other things going on iykwim. Once dd was born it didn't go over night but DID improve about 70%. It totally went after about 5 weeks.I'm pregnant again and just hope it doesn't return..good luck.xx

forgot to say, the cushion advice is good. I did the same....ouch..I forgot about the bed moving bit.......omg my hips used to click/crunch each time I turned over ...

i went for physio advice with dd1 and it was of limited help... but i went to an osteopath for dd2 and it was bloody great. it was private and i was going every 2 weeks on average (£30 a go) but i figured i was only spending what i was saving by not going out or shopping ,etc, and it was definitely worth it. much less pain this time round, only used crutches twice, whereas with dd1 i was on them constantly from 7 months and in lots of pain.
