So scared I'm going to lose my baby :(

Ok, let me firstly explain that I'm not usually this irrational!

I have had 2ds, countless miscarriages, including a ruptured ectopic and am currently 17 + 3 with dd.

On Saturday I went to toilet, having been pretty constipated for a few days (tmi apologies!!) and noticed that I was losing bright red blood. Definitely not from back passage as I 'checked' (sorry again!) and I was in quite a lot of pain. Off I went to A & E where I was admitted in 'possible early labour' Sad

Awful night in pain where lots of tears were shed, so imagine my surprise when after a few hours sleep, I woke up to zero pain and no more bleeding. So the dr was happy with baby's heartbeat and told me to go home.

So, yesterday I thought it would be a great idea to go back to work...it wasn't by the way! Again after using the toilet, more red blood from the front. Trip back to hospital, same thing, baby ok and no reason for bleeding. Then she said, "I'm sorry but I cannot rule out that you are in early labour, you need to go home and wait it out". So now, here I am at home, terrified that if I move something awful will happen and don't even get me started on yhe fear when/if I need to go to the toilet Sad Sad Sad Sad

Any experience or advice would be great. Even just a hand to hold or a friendly shoulder shake to stop me thinking the worst Sad

The hospital gave me fybogel (sp?) and is has helped. I think I have just a huge fear of going and bleeding I'm holding back iyswim?

I'm in South Wales so London isn't really an option for me. I will however, give my midwife a quick call and see if she can advise how to get an internal scan. I'm very fortunate that she is a wonderful midwife and more than willing to help a (very neurotic) woman Smile

Thanks again for all advice and kind words.

Ah yeah, it's a long way over to London from there! I used to live in West Cornwall which is even worse!!

Fybogel is good - I was going to recommend it myself! Make sure you drink lots of water with it as well. Constipation in these situations is a nightmare because if you are scared to go, you don't go and it impacts even more. Vicious circle.

Your midwife sounds lovely - I'm so glad you have her!

You're welcome - I nearly lost DD2 to incompetent cervix (I had a rescue stitch at 18w3d) - no symptoms at all, just a lucky well-timed scan that revealed the issue. So it's something I'm always paranoid about for other women as well, even though most women are absolutely fine Smile Nothing to lose by making sure of that though!

Hi YellowRose
hoping things are well with you and to let you know I'm still thinking of you Thanks

stillenacht · 18/09/2013 20:27

I bled at 6wks then 11 wks then from 13-19 wks with DS1. Something to do with a blood clot on the placenta. Hope everything goes really well for you xx

How are you?

YellowRose2728 · 19/09/2013 20:33

Well I'm still here...pregnant. And she is doing lots of kicks and turns Smile Smile Smile

Still too scared to go the toilet, which I KNOW is not good for me...have tried all sorts, maybe it's psychological now. Is that even possible???
