Just wondering if anyone else has had this? I am 17+2 and did it last night for the first time since 12 weeks, this morning I woke up and had had some bleeding during the night. I had some more this morning and now it has stopped completely. I am not feeling baby move properly yet but have definitely felt a few little flutterings this morning so all seems to be ok.

I need to get to 40 weeks soon because this whole pregnancy thing is just stressful! Have told dh that was the last time for a long time!!

Firstly, you are allowed to say sex on here.

And secondly, don't worry! Light bleeding after sex is normal during pregnancy. It's stopped now and you didn't have any cramps so it doesn't sound like anything to worry about.

Having sex when you are pregnant won't harm your baby, so enjoy!

Ha ha! Thank you I wasn't sure and didn't want to get into trouble!!!

Thank you for the reply, I spoke to my friend this morning and she was all for driving me to A&E but I'm generally not a worrier and thought it was probably ok but then didn't want to sit here all relaxed if I actually should be worried!

There is no harm in phoning your midwife for some reassurance if you are worried. That's what they are there for.

You can say whatever swear words you want, which is handy when you are having a stressful day Grin

I had this two weeks ago whilst on holiday camping (I was 23+4 at the time), one trip to a labour ward 6 hours away from where we live, all was fine. They referred to it as a post coital bleed, and wanted to keep me overnight for observation but due to us being due to leave the campsite that day and having the dog in the car I was kept in for observation for 3 hours. And I was told it was normal, and that as long as I had stopped bleeding I was ok to go.

Hope that helps a bit. Try not to panic xx

hi, i had exactly the same thing half way through my pregnancy whilst we were away on a romantic paris weekend! i panicked and called the emergency midwife number, but they were totally unphased by it. They did ask about quantities and colour though. As it wasn't fresh blood (not bright red) and really just spotting then they said it wasn't a problem. It didn't happen subsequently because we were a little less...um...enthusiastic? :) But if you don't have a number for your 24 hr midwife yet then call the delivery suite at your chosen hospital. better to call unnecessarily than not call when you should!

Don't think its anything to worry about and does seem quite common but I would still call your midwife and just check with her that all is ok. They may want to check and make sure its not fresh blood or a tear anywhere xxx

I've had this too especially quite early on. Believe your vaginal membranes are a bit sensitive and this can lead to bleeding. Same with gums and nasal passages.
But always mention it next mw appt.
