Possible TMI but starting to feel very painful

I'm 36+1 and wanted to ask a quick question. Since the last 2 days, I have felt increasingly bruised (inside and out) 'down below'. It's towards the front around and either side of the urethra and clitoris area. No pain when peeing though and it's not like cystitis, it's more a bruising pain inside and on the skin.

There's a constant pain there and it's even worse when I try to get up from sitting or if separating my legs in any way.

Has anyone else experienced this? The only thing I can liken it to is how you feel after you ride a horse for the first time in a very long time...

Google SPD.

I hope it's not.

If you think that's what it is, there's a wealth of advice and experience on here.

Sounds like SPD although I don't think it's unusual to have pain of the symphysis pubis at that gestation. Try not to separate legs when getting in and out of bed/car etc...I would say ask for a physio referral to get a support belt but my referral took so long you'd be delivered by then! Remember you can take paracetamol if you need to...

varicose veins down below can be quite common in pregnancy so it could be that? Definitly have a word with your midwife to put your mind at ease

SeriousStuff I'm almost 38 weeks and have had this on and off for about a fortnight: it comes and goes from day to day, but does basically feel like I've been kicked full on in the fanjo and am bruised to bits. I talked to my midwife about it last week and she said it was totally normal - apparently just another joyful part of this miraculous process. Obviously get checked out if you feel you need to but just thought I'd let you know that you're not the only one and as far as I'm aware, it's not anything to panic about.

Thank you all - my last urine sample was clear and used a pessary the previous week to treat thrush so infection-wise, I should be ok.

Will see how I am tomorrow then will call my GP or MW.

I am 38 wks and have had the same, it really does feel like I've been kicked in the pants! I posted a few days ago 'pain in my, ahem, area' and also got told it was likely some mild spd/pgp.
I haven't done much different but it's calmed down for me so how it does for you too.
