this might sound thick of meConfused

im 33 weeks and was up most of the night with contractions that hurt..
the tightenings themselves didnt hurt me were just uncomfy but i had backache and period pain intermittently with them and babys movements hurt. they stayed irregular n i havent leaked anything. they stopped n started throughout the night and i woke up this morning with just periodey pain and sporadic tightenings thats been on n off through today. movements are plentiful.

im keeping an eye on them obvs but where do i draw the line? at what point do I leave it til before i ring the midwife? it sounds like a stupid question but i gave birth to my youngest 4 1/2 years ago i dont recall how bad the pain was Confused

i live alone with my 3 DCs so i wanna try n avoid unnecessary hospital trips worried im just being a hyperchondriac Blush

This sounds similar to what I've had and I rang the midwives a few times. They weren't concerned and put my mind at rest so you're probably best to give them a ring, they see it all so they will know if it's anything to worry about. x

I would give them a ring to check.

Are you drinking enough? I was getting contractions between 30 and 33 weeks and I massively upped my water intake and they have really settled down. I'm 35+6 now and haven't had any for ages.

hhmmm ill give it a shot. a friend said to not ring the midwife until the pain is unbearable but surely that isnt a good idea at 7 weeks early? Confused
whats confusing is that although theyre getting painful, they arent consistent enough to be a red flag.. theyre really on-off n sporadic, different durations n frequencies from one contraction to the next. x

I would have thought because you are only 33 weeks that you shouldn't be waiting until they are regular etc. If you are in pre labour they may want to monitor you as baby won't be ready yet. I think you should get checked out.

MummyJetsetter · 15/09/2013 09:45

They say when you're in labour not to go to hospital until it's unbearable but when you're not term and worried about something you ring the midwife, it's what they're there for. Please don't listen to anyone telling you to wait, it's just a phone call! x
