I am around 12 weeks pregnant, with a 15 month old, back in work (part time). I have the day off today, DC is in nursery, but I just cannot get my act together and do anything productive. I've been feeling knackered for weeks now & wondering if this is normal? Can't remember being this tired first time round. Awaiting my blood test results, oh and have been told my blood pressure is a bit low, so thinking it could be linked. Does anyone have any pick me up tips? Really need to make a dent in the weekly clean before DC and DH reappear!

Expecting my first and MW assures me it's normal to feel like in going to land face first on my keyboard... As for a pick me up, if you find one please let me kn...zzzzz

;)

Normal ime.. but please dont worry about doing anything productive!! Enjoy some guilt free time on the sofa, esp if your toddler is at nursery. These moments of peace are few and far between and you need to prioritise rest.
You are growing a baby.. that is productive enough for now Wink

I used to sleep until 4pm in the early days Grin
I didn't have early nights though.

When I think about my first trimester I keep thinking how lucky I was that I just suffered from nausea without being sick. BUT then I remember how tired I was...all the time.

My worst time was between 2 and 4 in the afternoon, which I cunningly named, afternoon nap time. The second worst time was between 10 and 1 in the morning, which I cunningly named morning nap time. Which is difficult to do when you work full time in an office! So when I got desperate (eyes rolling back and feeling sick because of being tired, not morning sickness) I went to the toilet (which was just an extension of my desk with the amount of times I was going to the loo!) and tried to power nap for 10 minutes. Not the most glamorous, but it got me through to the next point in the day.

By 9pm I was struggling to stay awake and my DP kept calling me a petulant child who refused to go to bed. But I knew if I went to bed before 10, I would just wake up and be awake by 3am with no chance of going back to sleep!

It is perfectly normal to be soooo verrrry tired, you are not only making a baby, you are making the placenta, adapting your body to accommodate the baby making equipment (uterus, extra fluids, placenta, baby (s) etc), plus trying to run your own system in parallel.

If you get the chance to sit and stare into space, jump (metaphorically) at it :)
