4th degree tear last time, consultant appointment this week for DC2

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with DC2. I'm due to see a consultant later this week and am wondering if there are any questions that I haven't thought of to ask. So far I already know I will be having an ELCS which has been confirmed in writing during my follow up appointments after the birth of my DS. This is my list of questions I have:

I have a prolapse - is this likely to get worse? I don't know what kind it is. This is my last baby so can I discuss fixing this perhaps during the ELCS? (don't know if this is even possible but thought I'd ask)

I currently haven't had any bowel accidents during pregnancy but expect this may change as the baby gets bigger and puts a lot more pressure on my bladder and bowel. Any idea how long after giving birth this may last, if at all?

Is there any stats of people who have had 4th degree tears and given birth naturally again? (this is for my peace of mind, I'm not planning on ever going through that hell again)

I'm hypermobile, will this affect my recovery in any way?

So MNetters, are there any obvious questions that I have forgotten on my list? Thanks.

Hey there - I had a 4th degree tear with DC1 and then went on to have ELCS with DC2. The ELCS was decided upon as soon as I was in recovery from the repair op after having DC1 and I have to say it gave me peace of mind during the pregnancy of DC2.

I had no bladder or bowel issues during pregnancy at all yet I did have control issues initially after the initial repair which got better over a few months.

The ELCS was a major op, I was scared but it was a far calmer, controlled environment than I had previously experienced. I suffered PTSD after my tear and therefore was concerned I would see this return - it didn't Smile

I recovered very well, no problems at all. Am now pregnant with DC3 and this too will be an ELCS.

I am happy to answer any other questions if you want to ask.

Its nice to know I'm not alone, thank you for your response. I'm seeing consultant tomorrow so will hopefully come away with a bit more information.

I too had PTSD (and PND) and I definitely don't want that again!
