Hi all, I am 34 weeks with a baby measuring 3-4 weeks ahead, and a history of large family babies. This week has seen another growth spurt and the baby's head is causing SUCH discomfort. Not only the bowling ball thing, but the top of my thighs feel like they've got a tourniquet on them. How on Earth do people bear this? I am having huge issues sleeping, walking hurts, and sitting is just painful. Please tell me I'll go into labour early so this can stop - the pain is so chronic!

I had a lot Of pain at the top of my thighs when I was 33/34 weeks. Told midwife who had a feel o my tummy and said that baby's head was resting on my pelvis and prob pressing on nerves. She told me to spend some time on my hands and knees to get the baby to move a bit. Tried for about 10 mins. Stood up and low and behold pain had gone. Might be worth a try?

Oooh im feeling broody again so popped back into the pregnancy section to remind myself that pregnancy is no fun! I felt like you and I went overdue by 5 days, stretch and sweeps do the trick! I feel your pain! Just find someway of getting yourself comfy and stay there! I put on most of my weight gain in the last month as it's,just impossible to move! Keep your chin up x

Almost snap! I'm 34 weeks and measuring 39, and previous DS was 9lb 3oz so expecting a bigger one this time.

I have the bowling ball feeling every few days. I find the best thing is to spend as much time horizontal as I can, and to sleep with a pillow between my knees. I also find sitting on the edge of the sofa helps, with my knees apart.

Are you still working? I'm looking forward to curling up on the sofa with a box set in a couple of weeks!

Thanks everyone, I will act on your advice. Am working from home and fighting temptation to turn into a slob! Wishing those in similar boats get some reprieve.
