Location ideas for a 2 night 'babymoon' break on the south east coast?

I'm hoping you lovely Mumsnetters might be able to help me.
i'm currently 34 weeks pregnant & we are looking to go away in a couple of weeks just for two nights to spend some time together before the baby comes.

I'm looking for suggestions of small holiday cottages or hotels with larger rooms for us to stay in, along the south east coast. So somewhere like Hastings, Rye, Brighton, Worthing etc. Because I'm already a bit slow at moving around we're looking for it to be somewhere fairly central so not to much walking to get anywhere. Would love any suggestions you have!

DH and I went here a few years ago www.whitehousebrighton.com

The rooms are lovely, breakfast is amazing and everywhere is within walking distance (or a very short taxi ride if you're feeling lazy!)

Just need childcare and we'd be back! Enjoy your babymoon where ever you go :)

I have heard that Rye is really nice. Sorry I can't be more specific about hotels!

The George in Rye is lovely with a great bar and restaurant

Ooooo thank you for the tips, I remember going to Rye when I was little & loved it Smile

My friend and her husband recently went to The George for a night and meal and thought it was lovely.

Rye is lovely but quite a lot of hills and steps if I remember. Obviously depends on how you feel

I know a great place in Broadstairs if you're looking for somewhere in the south east coast

i recommend brighton. there are lots of independant baby shops down the lanes at the moment.. lots to explore and lots of places to relax.

Rye is lovely - hoping to get there myself before baby #1 arrives. Not stayed there before, but I've heard that the George and the Gallivant are both nice. Enjoy!

Can also recommend the George in Rye - spent a night there as a birthday treat a few years ago and it was lovely. Room was very boutiquey and the bar area was really cosy with big comfy armchairs and a log fire. Only downside was that it was January and most of the town seemed to have shut up shop for the winter so a cafe and restaurant we'd planned to try weren't open. This time of year should still be in season, though.

In Brighton, the Hotel Una and Pelirocco, both in Regency Square, are, respectively, v boutique and rock n roll...

Sorry to jump in on your thread - I have just started my own business giving mums and dads to be babymoon ideas and would love to know where you eventually decide to go on your babymoon. I don't feature the George yet but will certainly look into it now reading everyone's feedback!

Ideally I would like to feature personal recommendations as I think these are so much more valuable - any help gratefully received!! My web address is www.youmeandthebump.com and email [email protected]

I'm so pleased you have chosen to go on a babymoon, I never did despite being pregnant 3 times but really wish I had! Have a wonderful time - and hopefully chat soon xx
