It was recommended to me by a friend, who lives in another country. I'm curious if anyone has bought one and tried it on their baby?

Basically, it is special designed baby bed/matress for newborns, that helps w reflux.

Welcoming baby gently into the world, providing him with a comforting, reassuring, well-defined space which
reminds him of his mother's womb, the Cocoonababy® helps the newborn to adapt as best as to possible life
following birth. The semi-foetal, slightly curved position which baby adopts in the cocoon, soothes him, reassures him and helps to limit the onset of the principal troubles which may bother him during his first months.
The Cocoonababy® is an ergonomic cocoon which repositions the child in the semifoetal position he adopted in his mummy?s tummy.
The semi-foetal position du Cocoonababy® helps limit concerns occuring during the first months and contributes to :

  • improve the quality and the length of the child?s sleep.
  • reduce the involuntary jerky movements which wake baby with a start and make him cry (startle or Moro reflex).
  • limit gastric reflux (thanks to the slope of the Cocoonababy®).
  • limit the risk of flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly).
The Cocoonababy® nest includes the Tummy Band reassures and soothes baby by applying a light pressure on his tummy, without hindering his freedom of movement.

I copied more info, but really, I'm looking for feedback from someone who has this or tried it! Thanks!

Hmmm. Not sure about it. DD had silent reflux so I would've tried it had I known but it would be unnecessary if the baby doesn't have reflux.

Sorry haven't tried it but my friend has (her daughter had reflux). Made no difference to reflux apparently - she ended up using a sling of some kind, I think.

It's pretty expensive - £125 or so. I see it is only suitable till your child can roll. Both my sons were rolling at 8 weeks and were rolling a lot by 12 weeks. I would have felt £125 was a lot for a few weeks' use. I'd probably get an Arm's Reach sleeper or co-sleeping cot for that money.

Sorry, that's kind of limited information. Hope you find someone who has given it a more thorough road test!

Yea, makes sense. I thought I would be able to use it at least 12 weeks, which would be worth it if it actually worked and kept baby sleeping well! My first baby didn't like lying completely flat on back and we suspect reflux, I'm hoping second will be fine! But wanted to be prepared just in case! For our first, we ended up hiring night nanny 4 times a week for two months bc she was a difficult sleeper (night nanny got her sleeping well after a few weeks, but we kept her on anyway). So thought if cacoonababy worked, better then spending so much on night nanny! Now my first sleeps so well! So at least night nanny helped w that!

In that case I would spend my money on the night nanny. She sounds like a hit.

I speak as the mother of a terrible toddler sleeper and a not-so-terrible baby sleeper with no idea why children do/don't sleep! Grin

It was like magic, when she came the first time. It was just like she really knew how to calm and get baby to sleep :) she did teach me afew tricks and what I learned was as the babies get older, u have to use new tricks to help them sleep. Mine now is 18 months and she usually sleeps like an angel! However, i have special routine (that I'm sure many mom's use) which is bath around 6:15pm, pjs on and ready for bed by 6:45pm. Sleepy time music in our room while she drinks milk, gets cuddles and make room dark or barely any light - then after I take her to her to her room, hug her etc and out her down while she is awake. Normally, she sits up and smiles and laughs while I walk out and them she quiet so I assume she goes right to bed, but sometimes I hear her talks to her two stuffed animals in bed for a few mins befor she sleeps :) normally she sleeps until 7am. But summer messed it up a bit, do had to try and use things to keep her room dark or she would wake earlier in morning. But now that sunrise is later she is sleeping until 7am again :) I just hope I'm able to get my second baby to sleep easy when he newborn! I hope what I've learned from first will help!
