I've got dd 11 and ds 8 and have just found out am pregnant with no.3 aged 40. Apart from feeling old to start again I'm worried about the age gap and the effect it will have on the new baby and ds and dd. Just hoping for some encouraging words from anyone in similar situation!

Snap! I'm nearly 9 weeks with an 11.5 year old and a 7 year old. I figure they'll be able to help with some of the child care; it'll be excellent contraceptive education for them both, and no-one's going to have a melt down about why I can't play hanging them upside down whilst pregnant (yay!).

Worries - my fanjo hasn't been stretched for a while (no rudeness about husband intended Grin); my eldest will be totally embarrassed that my body goes bonkers, and I evidence (whisper) I've had some sex!

We're keeping it a bit shush for a wee while as the last ended in MC, but I'm a bit tummyish now and then already (no stomach muscles and bloat!), so will probably tell at 12 weeks.

Seeing the whole thing as a right old giggle. Didn't plan to have a long family, but had a change of heart last year.

I'm 40 with an 11 and 10 year old...and a new little week old arrival.

The entire house is besotted with him and the love this little one is going to feel is something really special. I also have a few extra hands to help when I want to have a shower, cook dinner, etc. It's a whole different experience and I'll loving it so far.

I found being pregnant at 40 a lot tougher than when I was 30 but it's all a distant memory now. Ache, pains and 7 months of constant nausea all forgotten and completely worth it.

Congratulations! ♥️♥️♥️
