No bump at 15 weeks and really worried

I know everything is probably fine and that I am over reacting but I am 15 weeks pregnant and not showing at all. I had terrible morning sickness in my first trimester and haven't gained any weight. I'm really anxious generally at the moment, partly because I still feel so run down and exhausted, and yesterday I had to take a day off work because I was feeling so tearful and crap. Now I am obsessing about the possibility of missed miscarriage and concerned because I don't look at all pregnant. I know I need to calm down but this is my first pregnancy and I am constantly worried about things going wrong. When do people usually start showing? I am 5,5 and 8 and a half stone - dont know if this makes any difference.

Cavort your bump pics are so reassuring! I'm 18 weeks just now and barely anything showing.

GeppaGip · 04/09/2013 13:10

I know I am coming to the thread late but just to add to the reassurance. I am a 'looks due at 12 weeks' kinda girl, but my friend didn't pop out until very close to her due date. Until about 34 weeks she didn't look pregnant at all! Envy Enjoy it - the bump gets right in the way and if I could wait until right til the end before I got a big bump I would!

First PG I was wearing size 10 normal trousers at 6 months! Second PG I was in maternity trousers at 10 weeks. This time around, Im 13 weeks and have felt so rough Ive not gained any weight and actually got thinner! Don't worry. Everyone is different. As someone else said, you'll be feeling movement any day.
Im resisting a home Doppler, I don't want to make myself hysterical If I cant hear anything!
At 15 weeks, your uterus has only just appeared from behind your pelvis. If your waist is thickening then something is happening. Relax and try not to worry. x

mrsbeano · 04/09/2013 15:22

I think its the MS and your height. You're not short so there's more room for the bump to spread out and no cake related weight gain. I was the same - I know I was definitely just looking a bit fat at 20 weeks but a bump by 30 weeks.

Weight gain was 4lbs at 20 weeks and then about 1lb a week thereafter until delivery.

Don't worry, by the time you're 35 weeks and struggling to paint your toenails, this will be a forgotten worry.

15 weeks is still a worrying time - you don't feel the baby move yet and you've not had a scan for a while and the MS that you hated has now faded - you can almost forget your pregnant! At least you should get to listen to a heartbeat at your next MW appt.

Msbluesky32 · 04/09/2013 16:19

Couldn't visibly see mine for ages - think around 26 weeks! Really normal x

oscarwilde · 04/09/2013 16:27

Popped at 20weeks here. 5.5ft and 8.5 stone at first conception too.

Have a look at photos of Kate Middleton - she didn't look pregnant until her last trimester.

YippeeKiYayMakkaPakka · 04/09/2013 16:32

I was a similar height and weight to you OP and didn't 'pop' until about 19w with my first. She's 3yo now :)

It's hard not to worry when you're at that stage where your MS has abated but you're not showing yet, so you've no outward signs that the pregnancy is progressing as it should. Try not to though, it all sounds perfectly normal.

SomethingOnce · 04/09/2013 23:01

Nothing much here either until 20 weeks.

Hi I just turned 15weeks yesterday. Barely showing. I bloat when I eat and bloated then for the day but no bump. Should I be worried? I had my scan at 12weeks and baby was 6cm and moving legs and arms. Just don't feel real now since the sickness stopped and not showing . Next scan ain't till November

BarleyG · 21/08/2019 08:20

Totally normal... I only started to show at 25 weeks last time and i’m now 12 weeks with my second and no sign of a bump yet

LondonKate · 21/08/2019 09:20

A full bladder is bigger than your uterus until at least 16 weeks and the shape of you doesn't change much when you really need a wee! Be thankful for your good abdominal muscles 😀

CTRL · 21/08/2019 13:34

I didn’t show until I was 22 weeks with my first

ImMeantToBeWorking · 21/08/2019 16:25

@FredFlintstonesSister I am 14+3 (but measuring 15 at my dating scan) I have a bit of a bump but nothing noticeable to anyone else but me.

I get weighed weekly and I have put on no weight.

Every pregnancy is different. Do you have an appointments coming up that you could talk to someone about your worries?

I have read threads on here of people using Dopplers and not hearing a heart beat so I wouldn't waste your money to be honest.

In a few weeks time when you are in a bigger size (or maternity) jeans you will probably look back and wish you were still in your normal size.

faelavie · 21/08/2019 18:10

I didn't have a bump until around 22 weeks and even then, people didnt start noticing until I was around 25 weeks. Not everyone carries the same.
At 15 weeks you definitely couldn't tell I was pregnant.

Mamabear12 · 21/08/2019 18:17

I didn’t have a bump until 21 weeks and now I’m 23 and it’s not obvious. This is my third pregnancy as well. With my first it was even later! People keep commenting I don’t look pregnant and they can’t beleive it. I’m tall and slim, but gain a lot during pregnancy. Boobs get huge and everything fatter. But for some reason people can’t believe it (when I tell them how much I gain). I have other friends who bellies look huge by 15 weeks. Everyone’s body carries differently.

melissa1215 · 21/08/2019 19:26

I didn't get my bump until around 24 weeks, I just had some bloating

Starlight84 · 21/08/2019 19:31

I’m 20 weeks today and I have no bump! Just look podgy! This is also third child as well. X

kayleighandbaby · 21/08/2019 21:57

Girls thank u so much ❤️ getting cramps in my lower abdomen so I definitely no it's stretching anytime soon haha. You no yourself it just don't feel real till u have the baby bump on show

LKH27 · 22/08/2019 07:51

I didn't properly show until 27+5. I'm 29 weeks today.
I did/do pilates so muscles quiet toned. I enjoyed not showing at times as it meant I didn't have to fork out on new clothes. Think of the positives. The size of the bump does not reflect how the baby is growing.
My midwife appt last week - she commented on how small my bump was still but then told me my baby was in the 90th percentile!

1990carey · 22/08/2019 09:13

Hi, in 25+1 and I only started to show around 20 weeks, and I've only just gone into maternity clothes. I understand ur worry, because I've had such an easy pregnancy so far, no real bad symptoms, so it felt like I wasnt pregnant at all. At my 12 week scan I was sure there would be nothing there and even again at my 20 week scan. But what's really reassuring is when you start to feel then kick. I dont worry so much now because my little girl gives me a right kicking in the morning, and evenings she even gives her daddy a good kick when he has his had in my stomach. Theres so much worry so I completely understand but trust me once you start feeling ur baby it does get a bit easier. Ur 15 weeks now so in the next 3/5 weeks up I maybe start to feel ur baby.

millymae · 22/08/2019 14:46

I was about the same weight as you OP but am a couple of inches shorter.
Based on my experiences I’m not sure there’s any rhyme or reason to the size of your bump - my first baby was 8lb 2ozs and I was still fitting into my normal clothes at 7 months. With baby number 2 who weighed in at 8lb 8ozs I developed a little bump before the 12 week scan but was like a waddling whale from month 5. It was weird, the bump with my first was all at the front when it appeared, but with number 2 it seemed to stretch from side to side.
I dreaded pregnancy number 3 after the discomfort of my second but this was more like my first - a smallish bump - photos show it appeared earlier than month 7 though - and he weighed in at 8lb 5ozs
I was lucky in that I didn’t put on much additional weight with any of them and I was back in my normal clothes within a few weeks. They were all straightforward normal deliveries, none any quicker than the other and between 10 and 14 days later than the expected date.
I remember being anxious (and a little jealous) with my first as there was another girl at work due the same time as me - her bump was obvious quite early on and she was full of baby talk. It wasn’t until I began to hear my babies heartbeat at clinic appointments and I started to feel movements that I relaxed a bit but if I’m being truthful the worry that there was something not quite right only really went away on the day I gave birth.

kayleighandbaby · 22/08/2019 15:03

Thank you everyone. Just went to see my nurse there she let me hear the child heart beat and that it was incredible. Now I'm a bit more relaxed. She said the womb is near my belly button. So does that mean I can pop at any time. She thinks I'll be small anyways I was 7 and a half stone was 8 there couple of weeks ago don't no what I I am now but I'm constantly needing to pee baby definitely in my bladder haha just hope i show soon
