Hi

Can anyone recommend a bouncy chair?

Is it really necessary to have all vibrating and muscial

Thanks x

Hi Smile musical/vibrating probably not necessary (this is my first baby so no past experience)

I've just bought a bright starts one from Asda in the baby event for £16 (normally £25). It does vibrate and has a toy bar which is removable.

Friends have the same one for their baby and he loves it (he's six months now).

Good luck buying one!

We got the woodsy fisher price one which has vibrations and new is about 40 quid but got it second hand but in perfect condition from eBay for 15 quid!!! Not massively necessary to have vibrations/music but it might be good to check eBay to save some money if there is a particular one you like Smile

All babies are different.

Some need a swingy chair, some a buzzy chair.

I recommend a cheap one that has a removable overhead bar for dangly toys.

Then when baby arrives see what it likes/ needs.

You may get to the point of 'I will pay ANYTHING to get some sleep'
Hope not, but you mightShock

Haha milktraylady I might start buying lottery tickets in anticipation for being willing to pay anything to get sleep Grin!

My sister had a fisher price swing and my cousin who now has a 4 month old was telling me I should definitely buy one as its the best thing I'll buy...but I quite like one of these vibrating ones, as this is my first I have no experience of my own although my nephew did love his swing when he was younger. I figure if you don't like the vibrate function you could leave it turned off and just gently bounce by hand Smile.

I second eBay, or try Kiddiecare the have a great sale on at the moment (or did a couple of days ago, I hope they still do it's payday tomorrow lol!)

Try for a second hand one-I wanted everything new for my first but just had second & bought a fisher price links a doo vibrating (no toy bar) in charity shop for £2.99 for my mum & dads but its much better than the one I have at home which sits my 6.5 week old too upright.

Try eBay, paper or gumtree for local second hand stuff-much better as stuff like nappies, formula etc costs a bomb!

As pp says every baby is different so yu may not know what suits until the time comes

Good luck and congratulations!

MIL bought a Mamas and Papas bouncy chair for £19.95 with an overhead bar and a vibration setting. Much better than the fisher price one we paid £45 for.

I don't think I like the idea of a vibrating chair. Think I'll just get a rocking one.
