Breech baby at 30 weeks, I'm a bit scared :S

I had an appointment today and am exactly 30weeks. The baby is in breech position and I'm a bit worried. My other two have always been head down at this stage. I don't see how this baby will turn around as she seems nicely lodged in this position. If she were to turn and do a full flip, my stomach will rip (that's what it feels like!)

Is there anything I can do to encourage her to turn around? I'm so silly I know I haven't been sitting up straight and I've been crossing my legs a lot when I sit down...my sil's babies were all breech and she had a c-section with them all and I really don't want this. I think I'm scaring myself with these thoughts.

Try not worry just yet. I'm 33 weeks and whenever I've asked about babies position the mid wife says they won't say until 36 weeks as standard as it can change so much in that time. For what it's worth I'm pretty sure mine isn't anywhere near head down yet but figure there's no point worrying for a few more weeks at least. Tips I've heard though are to get down on all fours and sitting on a birth ball both of which are meant to help turn baby. Or try spinning babies website x

Spinning babies worked for me - my DD was breech at 38 weeks, delivered at 40+3 head first and fast.

Or see an osteopath/acupuncturist.

Good luck!

My baba boy was breech for about 8 weeks there but has just turned down the right way finally at 36 weeks!

I'm just looking at my stomach, and it's so tight, I just don't see how they flip! But good to hear that they can. Never had a breech baby at this stage so this is new to me.

I've looked at the spinning babies website and those exercises look interesting! I'm going to have a proper read through later and do it tonight.

My dd turned from breech to head down at 38 weeks, it was a tad painful and took about 30 mins (sat and watched my tummy go very lopsided, dh thought it very weird and alien like)! She did weigh well over 10lbs so don't panic. :)

My DS was breech until 36 weeks. My midwife checked his position at 34+6 and he was breech. I went to bed on that night and woke a few hours later thinking something was veeeery wrong. It was actually quite painful and lasted almost an hour, just strange baby movements. I had a scam first thing in the morning and the baby was no longer breech. So I wouldn't worry just yet!

*35+6

DD was breech at 34 weeks. She had turned by 36 week check and I had barely noticed it happen! I wouldn't worry just yet, plenty of time for baby to turn! Smile

I don't like these stories of the baby turning around and it hurting! Sounds painful.

I did kneeling on all fours and knelt down from the sofa too so hopefully this will get her to start moving. I can still feel the head near my ribs though because she moves it side to side.

DD turned on her own, suddenly, at about 35 weeks. It was just like an exaggerated, weird lurch for me, not painful. But she was fairly little, 6lb 10 at 41 weeks.
