low platelets and induction

Hello. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my third child and my platelets are dropping as they did in my previous pregnancies. In my first pregnancy I was given steroids to increase my platelets and although they seemed to have little effect they rose to 80 on the day of delivery (150-500 is considered normal) from 50 which the Dr was ok with. In my second pregnancy steroids increased them to 150at around 39 weeks but they dropped back to 40 on the delivery day so I ended up with a rather traumatic and rushed platelet transfusion in labour. This time my consultant wants to give steroids and/or immunoglobulin to increase steroids then induce if they're at an ok level around 38 weeks which seems sensible, but...I'm worried about the intervention and that it might fail due to being so early. Anyone else had similar experiences? Is it possible to have a relatively 'natural' induced labour? The midwives didn't seem to want me active in my previous labours due to being on drips but I felt lying down to be unnecessary and counter-productive. I'm getting scared! Thanks in advance :)

Hi I just had my first child 19 weeks ago (!). My platelets were qute low the whole way through but no one thought it a concern until I went to my 41 week check up and the had dropped to 70 so they decided to induce then instead of wait till 42 week. It was my first labour so can't compare it to a non-induced labour....
I have a really low pain threshold but a big fear of needles so wouldn't let them give me any injections for pain relief. I had a pessary put in 11 o'clock at night and by 3am was having regular contractions. Being the useless nhs Hmm they couldn't check me till 11am as that was 12 hours after being induced but at 7 they could see I was in enough oain to have g&a. I really wanted a water birth but couldn't go to the mw led unit because I'd been induced and by the time they examined me and moved me to labour ward I was too far dialated to get in the bath. The mw did encourage me to get off the bed and be active but like I said I don't deal well with pain and just wanted to curl up on the bed. From being officially declared in labour (although I suspect I had been for a while with no one checking!) to birth was 2.5hrs and all I had was g&a.
I know this might not have sounded like being induced was any good but the truth is it really wasn't as bad as everyone made out being induced was...Please god when I have another child I would happilly be induced again and just manage with g&a if I had to (although I hope not to be induced and have a water birth Wink)
hope that makes sense I can't remember what time my pfb dd woke me up this morning but I'm very tired!!!!
