Restless leg is driving me mad maybe it's sciatica I don't think so it's not pain it's just so uncomfortable from mid afternoon through whole night. Anybody give me advice I think a couple of paracetamol helped today but I don't want to take anymore really. I'm going to avoid caffeine......

No advice just empathy from me. I'm the same stage and get it just when I'm trying to get to sleep, it's like an internal tickle that makes me want to flail my legs about! So irritating! Had it with 1st pregnancy too and it lasts to the end now unfortunately but goes once baby is born. x

Oh no surely there is something we can do? Do you get it in your foot too?

Apparently magnesium supplements help with this. I had it really bad with my last pregnancy and they stopped once I started the magnesium. This time I'm getting it randomly. I absolutely HATE that tickly feeling and end up punching my legs to make it go away.

Omg!! I thought this was just me!! I get this sensation/tickle in my right foot and can't keep still or consentrate on the tv... I thought I was going mad ConfusedHmmGrin

MummyJetsetter · 26/08/2013 21:18

Ha ha! I never punch myself but the magnesium might be worth a try! Mine really isn't too bad but still bloody annoying! x

I've been recommended magnesium oil spray, it goes straight on the skin for quick absorption. Tonight is my first try at it, apparently it makes the skin tingle initially but settles with repeated use. At this point I'm ready to take a hacksaw to my legs to make it stop, so will deal with the tingly in favour of possessed limbs!

Oh this is horrible. I found giving up my one cup of tea a day helped (as you said OP), I'm just too sensitive to it now. Also getting enough naps and sleep, if possible. Walking for a little bit each day too.

Now on maternity leave at 38 weeks I realise the restless legs are only happening when I stay up too late.

Don't put up with it, get yourself a magnesium and calcium supplement. There are even remedies called Restless Legs, one is by Martin and Pleasance.

Try and go to bed before you are too tired and if that doesn't work I found eating ice and making myself cold worked. very well.

Avoid foods/drinks containing sulphites such as sausages and bacon, I always get restless legs after eating foods with sulphites in so just avoid them now. Worth a try maybe?
