Is this normal!? Theyre not uncomfy but are definately there, if this is happening so early is there a chance of an early arriver?

What do they feel like? I am 22 weeks today with my first and just wondering x

Diddle82 · 23/08/2013 23:01

I had them from 23wks (2nd pregnancy) midwifes said completely normal (i asked a few different ones over the weeks) my baby did arrive early at 36wks but i dont believe this was related. Some days they were constant, normally when i had been on the go a lot
Hope that puts your mind at ease...

I got them this early as well. Midwife said it was nothing to worry about as long as they didn't 'hurt'. 'Fraid they carried on all the way to the end of pregnancy!

I've had them since 15 weeks! Am now 33+4.

At a check up last week my consultant actually put me on a monitor as she was worried about them. She couldn't believe they didn't hurt as they are apparently very strong and very regular (yes, I knew this!)

When I showed her that I could stop them by lying on my side, she was fine and sent me home.
So, very normal, although can be v uncomfortable.

Congratulations on your pregnancies!

I had BHs from 20 weeks. It got to the point where they'd start at midday, come every 5 minutes and ease off around 8pm.

Dehydration seemed to make them worse, and they'd calm down if I sat down a while.

They got painful around 37 weeks when DS head engaged.

Labour did feel different (pains at lower bump, as opposed to top of bump going rigid) and started at 40+3. So not early!

If you're ever concerned, ring your MW. Good luck!

From about 20 weeks, anything strenuous set them off and rest made them go away. As long as there's no pain there's nothing to worry about, just your uterus gearing up for labour.
