How soon after childbirth did your sinuses and digestion recover?

I'm suffering quite badly from swollen sinuses and indigestion at 38 weeks.

I know the sinus thing is normal, most pregnant women snore, I am not snoring but I am mouth breathing and getting a really sore throat in the night from it. I also struggle brushing my teeth as I can't breathe through my nose.

I also have terrible indigestion, only controlled with ranitidine and also by not eating much at all. In the night last night I had the joy of acid reflux onto my dry sore throat from mouth breathing Sad

I know after childbirth I'll have a whole other set of issues (sore boobs, sore bits etc) but can anybody tell me how long it should take for the sinuses and digestion/stomach to recover? please??

Straightaway.

If it took any longer than that, I didn't notice because I had a lot of other stuff going on.

My heartburn disappeared instantly. It was such a relief after having it for 28 weeks!

The sinuses are only clogged because you have a lot of extra blood flowing through your vessels and that narrows the air passages in your head. You'll lose some during the birth. I had a normal vaginal delivery, no issues, somehow lost half a pint of blood.

The indigestion is only because there's a bowling ball in your tummy cramping up your stomach. Once that's out, your GI tract resumes its normal position and your digestion will be back to normal.

Oh good, I can't wait to be able to eat and breathe again...

I know I'll be exhausted and battered and bruised after birth but oh to be able to eat..... Smile
