No, it's normally hard cheese on pizza though?

hana · 15/06/2006 13:24

no, I'm sure the cheese they use is pasturized

throckenholt · 15/06/2006 13:24

I thought you could choose the cheese ? wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.

LadyTophamHatt · 15/06/2006 13:24

Never heard of that one....

Siunds ridiculous IMO.

They'll ve saying avoid oxygen before long!!

KommandantColditz · 15/06/2006 13:25

It's not soft cheese. It's hard cheese that has melted.

eenywifemum · 15/06/2006 13:25

Dont worry, the cheese is only soft because it is melted. It started out hard and is fine to eat.

Iklboo · 15/06/2006 13:25

Don't think they clas Mozzarella as a soft cheese - just brie, camembert etc. I ate pizza when I was pregnant & all was well. Go & enjoy!

nailpolish · 15/06/2006 13:26

ive never come across soft cheese in pizza hut

eenywifemum · 15/06/2006 13:26

crossed posts KommandandtColditz!

throckenholt · 15/06/2006 13:26

quick google suggests their cheese are all pasturised. Can't imagine they would risk anything that might cause problems.

nailpolish · 15/06/2006 13:26

unless mozzerella......

but you could have a pizza without

just pick your toppings

Dear God. Whatever next?

And, by the way, if you're avoiding soft unpasteurised cheeses (the cheese at Pizza Hut will be hard and pasteurised, mozza for pizza is hard, generally), they're fine if cooked. Which they would be on a pizza.

Personally, I would avoid Pizza Hut, while pregnant, but only because it's bad pizza. Not because of pregnancy.

2labs · 15/06/2006 13:36

you can have any cheese, even if unpasteurised, if it's properly COOKED and hot, including blue-veined mouldy stuff if you wanted it.

madmarchhare · 15/06/2006 13:36

Even if it was covered in brie, it wouldnt matter, its COOKED.

mower · 15/06/2006 13:37

Think I will probably be ok. Will just choose the toppings. Looking forward to it now!!!

I think we've all had moments of paranoia about something while we are pregnant, its ok. That's what mumsnet is for, isnt it? Amongst other things.

peachyClair · 15/06/2006 14:07

isn't it mould ripedned cheese you should avoid, as aopposed to soft cheese? philadelphia etc OK.

(may have changed since ds3 mind you)
