Hi,
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post but since I'm pregnant and trying to prepare I thought it wasn't entirely unsuitable.
I've been given some baby clothes and bedding by a friend who has a baby a year ago, I stored it in the shed until today when I decided to finally sort through it as I'm on maternity leave now.
The bedding stuff (Miyo hammock) says to hand wash with a natural soap liquid, I have no idea what such a thing is - anyone got any ideas? And what detergent should I use to wash the clothes? I'd like something really mild and especially designed for babies if possible.
Thanks in advance for useful information!

There are lots of detergents that claim they are suitable for babies.

The only one we found that suited us eventually was Surcare which we use for everything. . Expensive but worth it as DH and Ds have v sensitive skins.

I've used Fairy Non-bio for all baby things - non-bio is recommended as it is gentle on sensitive skin. I would probably just use the same for the bedding - seems quite impractical to have handwash baby bedding though! Can't imagine you'll be up for hand washing once baby is here.

I use Persil small and mighty non-bio with comfort pure fabric softener. Always used that combination before pregnant as it's what DH and I prefer (ariel makes me sneeze lol), so I was really happy when we got a free sample pouch of Persil and comfort (wrapped in a towel) in our bounty pack, as this reassured me it was okay to use on all of our baby stuff as well Smile. Made things nice and easy since it means I don't have to change what DH and I use (he's fussy lol Grin)

Whatever non- bio is on offer. I react badly to bios even in my 40s! Any old nonbio has been fine for both babies, now 4 and 1.
