Pyjama advice

Hi, I usually wear pyjama bottoms & a vest or large t-shirt, although mostly take them off & sleep naked - unless it's cold. I have no nightwear that currently fits me at 32 weeks. I'm due October so I'm thinking I'll be up in the night, in the cold. I am planning on breast feeding.

So, I need advice over some pyjamas or nightwear for breast feeding. Do I get traditional pyjama tops with buttons, or special nursing ones.

As I type, this seems to be a silly question, but I've been looking at different options and really struggling to make a decision!

Hi, I wore large pj bottoms or
Maternity trackie bottoms and vest tops with stretchy enough straps to get your boob out. Look for ones with spaghetti straps that have done stretch, h and m used to do some great ones for a couple of quid, had some from m and s too but they shrunk on washing and were annoying after that!!!! For my first baby I bought a proper 'nursing' nightie and literally wore it once, in the hospital, with pj bottoms underneath!! Don't waste your cash!! Smile Also it made me feel like a granny as, like you, I've always worn vest and knickers/pj bottoms or naked.

I had a baby in march (a couple of years ago!) and my favourite pyjamas were long sleeved stretchy v neck tops with a few buttons, and yoga pant type pyjama trousers. They all came from asda, nice and cheap, and i wore them before and after birth. Basically anything you can easily get a boob out of in the dark, and stretchy is good as you'll change size and shape in the first few weeks.

sluggers don't worry I'm having the exact same dilemma - also due in October! Smile

I was only concerned about now - hadn't even thought it might be cold in the night to get up and breast feed!! I normally get pjs from matalan or asda but their options haven't been great lately!

I just got myself some nice pjs that were a bit baggy. Some nice stretchy bottoms and the top was a large vest top easy to pull boob out of and bottoms nice and cosy

Primark is your friend ladies shop with gay abandon for larger sizes then chuck as you shrink!

My advice would be to go for something similar to what you normally wear.

I followed advice that button down nighties are best for breastfeeding but i hated wearing them as i normally wear vests. Hormones & lack of sleep made me want to rip the nighties off. I ended up wearing massive sized shorts & vest type pj's in hospital as it was so hot in there - end of October so time of year makes no difference. Once home i slept in vests & pants.

Icecubed is right. Plenty to choose from in Primark.

I bought and am still wearing a couple of button up nighties/night shirt type things for when I had DD1 that were quite good (obviously) but I never bothered to do the buttons up.
