Hello all,

This is my first post Smile as I have a question... how do people remember to do PF exercises? When and how many times etc do you do them? I am having great difficulty finding a good time in my daily routine to remember to do them... any tips welcome!

I am 14 wks with first one, very excited!

Thanks!

I did them almost every minute oif every day. Driving in the car, making a cup of tea, lying in the bath, sat on the computer. I still do now 8 months later, in fact the midwife said to me if you don't want to leak, then once your stitches are in start doing pve and never stop. I don't set a time or place to do them, I've just incorporated them into everyday life and do them whenever I remember.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Thanks

There are apps you can get that buzz a reminder on your phone a couple of times a day, and then count you down through a short kegel workout - worth trying til you get in the habit anyway!

Try to do them with something you do often during the day... I generally do them after i've been for a wee - you are sat there, just used the muscles so its easy to remember then. Or every time you stop at lights when driving.

They really do help - i had a 4th degree tear with my DS and if i dont want to face a lifetime of incontenince this is the only thing (except surgery & even then thats not guaranteed) that i can do to try to avoid it so thats my motivation.

Thanks everyone. I have found a free app that seems promising. WYDTF(/or anyone) - when you say you do them whenever you think of it, how long do you hold for, or do you vary?

Cheers!

I do up in 3, hold for 2 down in 1. And I do quick pulses all the way up too which are supposed to stop you leaking when you cough/sneeze. There's a physio in here who recommended several different types if exercise but I can't remember her name.

I use an app called my pff? (I think that's what it's called- and its free) you can set a reminder but I think it's downside is that you can only set reminder for one time a day- unless you change it after each reminder??

I'm rubbish at remembering- thanks for the tip- after weeing is a good idea.

you could put a post-it near the kettle (perhaps something cryptic that no-one else can read) so everytime you have a tea/coffee you'll remember? or fridge?
