So I am 29 weeks today(yesterday) depending on how you look at it. Had my routine midwife appointment which resulted in me being send to local hospital (was having regular contractions at the time) so I was stuck on a monitor. After an hour of having light contractions recorded for an hour or so they decided to check me internally and decided nothing was going on,
Did some kind of test that checks if you will go in to labour within next 2 weeks and sent me on my way. Now it is 4am been woken up with severe stomach cramps and had horrendous diarrhoea and now feel extremely sorry for myself. Can't get comfortable and am sweating in pain Hmm someone else please be awake to keep a very unsettled me company?

You poor thing. Is it worth phoning the midwife unit to update on your symptoms? Is this your first baby?

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 17/08/2013 04:28

Hello 4am from here too.

I am not unwell at all, but I am rather more familiar with 4am than I wanted to be this side of giving birth. Pregnancy insomnia is just the BEST

No baby number 3! I think I just have a horrible stomach bug! Boo and my nearly 3 year old has been up all night unsettled so been sleeping on a chair bed in his bedroom! I know I must pull myself together but you know those moments where you just want a little cry? This is my moment lol x

I know com the end of pregnancy sucks huh! I remember with my second son being relieved he was born so I could get some sleep despite breast feeding lol!

Agreed that 4am wakes up are horrid. I had them for nearly the whole of the last trimester. I'm on a mini break. Something electrical keeps buzzing in my room and a cat was meowing outside the window. I don't know why, but it's given me the creeps. Ds 10 weeks has just finished a feed and is taking up most of the bed!
Is it worth pulling your little one into bed with you?

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 04:40

He wants to get in bed with us! He is a terrible sleeper at the moment. He had tonsils and adenoids out in may and grommets added as he had sleep apnea now we have to break that habit of him waking so taking it in turns to spend the night in his room with our back to him so he has the reassurance but without him coming into bed with us. God love having a 10 week old! Keep trying to focus on having a gorgeous baby at the end but this time it's really hard to visualise! With the 3 year old and his sleep issues, eldest about to start secondary school and we got married end of July there have been so many distractions I forget I'm pregnant! Clearly baby has had enough of being ignored and is making himself known lol! It has made me panic and think I should maybe start buying some bits for him now x

No, no, no people this is all wrong. You're supposed to be helping with my general feeling that at this stage baby is better out than in - I do not want to hear about non-sleeping three year olds!!

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 04:53

Hahaha my 11 year old sleeps Grin and has always been a fabulous sleeper! My 3 year old was a nightmare pregnancy, reflux baby and then sleep apnea toddler - absolute nightmare! Good job he is so bloody cute! I'm due a fabulously good baby this time I'm sure of it. My other son was a gorgeous newborn and lovely pregnancy and just a lovely well rounded person (other than the hormones) I bet you have one of these! And at least when you have a gorgeous baby look up at you, you feel it's worth it. Currently you just feel crap (at least I do) with no cute little face to look back at you, I just have a snoring husband Blush

I'm told its all worth it. Mostly by DH what the fuck would he know whether feeling like death for 9 months was worth it Hmm

I have been very lucky and, in truth, I have had a very easy pregnancy with no complications or scares, I haven't web put much weight on. But at this rate we're not having any more Grin

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 05:09

Fingers crossed for lovely easy baby then! Are you all prepared? Have you booked in lots of me time until baby arrives? Important you remember to spoil/treat yourself as well as baby xx

Well, my two year old sleeps kind-of. Dh was snoring, so I sent him in with ds around 1am. I heard ds chatting about 15mins ago, but he appears to have gone back to sleep.

Everyone is sleeping apart from me and the bloody cat. I have closed the window and can still hear it. Confused

You are right though. It's much better being awake when you have a gorgeous newborn to look at.

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 05:29

I'm awake with you if that makes you feel any better? I almost think I may as well get up now and do something constructive other than lie in bed and watch crap on sky!

CuriosityCola · 17/08/2013 05:42

I was thinking the same. I'm really tired, but have been awake so long my stomach is looking for breakfast Grin

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 05:45

3 year old now awake so may just get up and have some tea and toast now! Will just tell hubby I get a mid morning nap later x

Are you sure you don't need to go back, I had big 'clear outs' both times I was in labour.

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 05:54

Well they said they didn't think anything was going on so I think I'm ok. Guess I will find out if I go into horrendous labour laterConfused

Mostly prepared, but nursery not quite finished and there's some stuff we can't do until then. I'm a bit in limbo til then, which is annoying me!

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 06:02

How long have you got to go?

OP posts:
CuriosityCola · 17/08/2013 06:17

I hope you ladies have a better day. Fingers crossed we all get naps later. Both my boys are wide awake, so time to face the day! Grin

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 17/08/2013 06:18

I'm 33+2. Loooooaaaaads of time, right?!

Except someone on the October thread had her baby already Shock

kimblesj · 17/08/2013 06:19

Me too cola although I sent 11 year old back to bed as it is too early for him and I don't want to deal with hormonal strop later when over tired! 3 year old is eating his weetabix and watching peppa pig!
