Hi, just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. I can feel the baby moving which is lovely, but occasionally I get this strange 'pulling' feeling in there, it's hard to explain but it's like something's stuck but is being pulled, I also get a feeling that something is pushing down on my cervix. Neither is painful, just feels strange and a bit wrong. I've had it for a week and had a scan in that time which showed everything is ok. Anyone had anything similar?

I haven't had this experience.

I would call the hospital/midwife/maternity unit ASAP to see what they think it could be.

To me it sounds like it could either be the baby tugging at the cord/placenta OR that your baby is moving down already into position for labour. The latter would worry me (I don't want to worry you as I doubt it is this as this would be very rare at this stage).

But it's better to be safe than sorry!

I'm 21 weeks and sometimes it feels like baby is using my cervix as a trampoline...I wasn't sure weather to be worried or not..it isn't painful, more like little muscle spasms.

LittlePeaPod · 17/08/2013 05:54

I have felt that baby using cervix/bladder as a trampoline. I have also felt the tugs. The feeling definetly dont feel anything like people described them. She seems to be more active early more like now I am 20+2 and only started feeling oven ends about 19+4.

Don't = doesn't. [smike_]

Oven ends = movements

I'm pretty sure I've experienced the 'pulling' sensation you describe, my midwife said it could be because baby wedges herself in a funny position then stretches and rolls out of it iyswim? If this doesn't sound like what you're feeling I agree with other posters who suggest giving the midwife a call.
Sorry if this wasn't much help. X

I had these wierd feelings with my first pregnancy. I didn't know it at the time but it was because my dd was breech and so was standing/ kicking my cervix. It's definitely worth mentioning it to the midwife. I only found out at 39 weeks that dd was breech and it was too late to turn her by then so ended up having a cs

lucybrad · 17/08/2013 18:14

yes I agree = sounds like the baby kicking the cervix which just feels really weird, or the baby is stretching out, which also feels weird when your not used to it.

I had this feeling with my first, never found out what it was but it felt like the umbilical cord was attached to my belly button and she would pull it inwards quite alot.. a really gross feeling

rubybambini · 18/08/2013 20:32

With DD, I found car journeys noticeably uncomfortable (I'd give it a 3/10 on a pain scale), to the point where I had to hold onto my bump, if we drove over sleeping policemen, for example. It felt like my uterus was 'pegged' to my body and pulling - that's the best way I can describe it. All was fine, but, as others have said, see your midwife if you're worried.

I get the pulling sensation when I have Braxton hicks, although it's not in cervix area, but more in the middle/around belly button. Does your belly get hard all over when it happens?
