Really struggling with sickness

Am 7 weeks and one day and it's getting so bad that I am just brining up stomach acid again as I can only seem to keep down sips of water. I seem to be feeling a little better in the evenings, so fingers crossed that continues. The acid is burning my throat and making me feel worse and my stomach cramps and spasms as i am being sick as there is nothing there.

I had this with ds 11 years ago - I lost five stone in that pregnancy (no one cared as I was obese to start with) and it never let up from 7 weeks, I was still being sick as I was being wheeled into theatre for my CS.

I am not complaining too much though as I had a mmc in April - I didn;t have this, so I am taking it as a good sign that I am kicking out all the right hormones, but right now, I am miserable!

I just wanted to come and sympathise. I can't offer any advice as I havent been sick just feel it but not as bad as yours. Sad Sending you a hug. x

Thank you! I tried everything to alleviate sickness in my first pregnancy, nothing worked, so I am not even going to bother this time round, trying and failing with all the remedies just made me feel worse.

Only thing I can seem to stomach is turkey slices with ketchup, the thought of anything else is enough to set me off!

I seem to remember sips of warm flat 7up helped, although my sickness wasn't as bad as yours. It settled my stomach better than plain water, but it had to be flat! I'd take a week to get through a 500ml bottle!

Hi, it might be worth going to your docs and asking for anti-sickness tablets? There are some you can take that hav low risk during pregnancy. I felt my worst at 7 weeks pregnant so hang in there cos it shud ease soon.

I've heard that acupuncture can really help with sickness during pregnancy. Is it something you'd be prepared to try? Really hope you feel better soon. This first trimester is really tough on some of us. X

If you can stomach turkey and ketchup and nothing else, then just eat little bits of that. All I ate for the first 4 months were cheerios and toast and most of that came back. The stomach acid you are bringing up is because you are so empty and it is such a horrible feeling.

Really hope it eases a little soon for you though.

Hi Makqueen - you poor thing, it sounds terrible. I'm 8 weeks and although I have some periods of nausea I haven't had any vomiting and am hoping it stays that way (fingers crossed).

As has been suggested, I also found warm, flat, lemonade to be very soothing on a sicky stomach. I just poured some in a pan and heated it on the hob for a few minutes - it tastes lovely too Smile

I hope you get some respite soon x x

Thank you all, it has let up a little this evening after a horrible day, dh is just going out to get me some crumpets as I fancy them and they are pretty innocuous.

Trelorne I tried acupuncture and reflexology in my first pregnancy, along with every other trick in the book, by week 30 I have up trying anything as I was making myself more pissed off and poor!

I hope I don't feel like this all the way through again.

Hi Maqueen how are you doing? Has your sickness abated at all?

Totesamazeballs · 22/08/2013 17:29

Hi! Feeling the same here and I was very sick with my son too. It's awful. I am considering meds this time round. I had nothing with my son and acupuncture didn't work.

Whoever called it Morning sickness hadn't any idea!
