Count the kicks wristband - couple of questions

I ordered a wristband from Count the Kicks as my SIL had a still birth last year so I'm very conscious of monitoring movement. This might sound a bit thick but I'm not completely sure how to use it and the instructions seem pretty basic. It has an R and an L on it which I'm assuming indicates which wrist you have it on??? Does that matter? Also, how long should you consider a set of movements to last? TIA xx

Hi, the R and L are for when/if you are breastfeeding so that you can keep track! I've seen and read mixed things about tracking. Some people have said move for each kick, punch or roll but the Count the Kicks people have said move the counter at the end of a group of movements. So if you felt three kicks in quick succession count it as one 'batch'. The count the kicks site says here that you should count in batches, but the most important thing is knowing what is normal for you. That could be, batches of movement in the morning, followed by the odd movements in the afternoon and then lots again in the early evening.

Hope this helps

This is the leaflet that you might want to also download and use to help you keep track of patterns, rather than just kicks.
