Twingy womb at 9 weeks?

I've 'felt' something since about 5 weeks but some of today's twinges are more painful than normal. Had the most painful one when I stood up too quickly. Nothing I can't handle pain wise and there's no bleeding or anything...is this just because my womb is moving upwards now I'm approaching 10 weeks or should I be worried?

Didnt want to read and run..

This is all sounds completely normal.

Sounds like its just everything starting to stretch and move to make room for your ever growing baby :-) hormonal changes also contribute to the early discomfort.

If the pain comes together with bleeding then contact your midwife or gp.

Good luck!

Thank you! I didn't want to panic myself for no reason. I just wasn't too sure with this being my first. x

It sounds normal. I am 19+6 and I got a lot of these between 6 and 14 weeks. I still get them every now and again. I spoke to MW and Consultant at the time and they told me the pains are the round ligaments stretching to accommodate / support the growing uterus. The uterus is effectively hung like a hammock and the round ligaments support it in the same way the ropes would support a hammock. As the uterus grows the round ligaments stretch to accommodate the increased uterus size.

The pains were different to period cramps and they were worse when I moved position quickly.

Congratulations Op Smile

Very normal, sounds like round ligament pain and i got them with two previous dcs and getting them again this time. Its actually a good sign as it means things are growing and expanding as they should be :-)

Thank you everyone Grin Glad I didn't panic about it as it takes me ages to calm myself when I'm convinced something's wrong.
