maternity wear in Brighton

Hi,
I'm just starting to need maternity wear - in particular a swimming costume for my holidays and trousers for work. I don't live near shops but am in Brighton this weekend. Am I likely to find what I need or should I go shopping online? Thanks

I live in that area, and to be honest most of my stuff I have had to buy online. Most stores that have a range never seem to have it in store.

There is a big new look there so they might stock some of the maternity wear range.

Also a Debenhams that may have something.

Hope that helps

I live near Brighton and have bought a few bits in H&M and their jeans are brilliant (the big one outside not the smaller one in the corner of the mall - they can tell you where it is though) and yes Newlook have some stuff upstairs but not much.

There is a Jojo Maman Baby in the lanes somewhere, not sure where but my mum got me a lovely top there for my birthday - it's quite pricey though.

I have not tired Debenhams, I guess it would be upstairs with the baby stuff as I have never noticed anything when I've been in there (admittedly I wasn't looking for it) There is also a big M&S but I know they don't do maternity bras - again never looked for clothes.

Then there is mothercare on the bottom level of the mall. Not a massive range but they do have some mat clothes, although again they can be quite pricey. This is the only place I have seen swimwear though.

On tip I will give is just size up on asda full briefs instead of buying maternity ones. I got two pairs of mat ones in mothercare for £8! or 4 pairs of big pants Smile in asda for £4! Bargain. Of course there may be a time I will be back in mothercare for their ones as I am pg with twins and wondering if I will outgrow the biggest asda ones haha.

Hope that helps Smile

Thanks, that really helps and certainly gives me some options - I'll be dragging my husband around all the shops mentioned above this weekend then! Good luck with the twins!

I wouldn't bother with a maternity swimming costume, they all seem to be baggy in weird places. Try a size up in one with built in bust support.
New look to maternity clothes but are very cheap and cheerful!

I have found that online shopping is by far the best bet - tried shopping for maternity wear in Edinburgh and found none at all!
eBay is a good place too if you don't mind second hand as you might not wear the stuff for very long and might not want to spend a lot on it

Thanks Frankykins - took no time at all to happen across the sale in H&M - 2 pairs of trousers £7 each! Now I'm comfy! Also got a top... and a swimming cossie in Mothercare for £26, but I'll wear it to the pool throughout so happy with that. FYI they also have swimming cossies in JoJoMamanBebe for the same price.
