Is Mitchum deodorant safe during pregnancy?

I am 16 weeks pregnant and have used this for many years and throughout my pregnancy. I just stumbled upon some stuff on the web that says it might not be safe to use in pregnancy, and of course now I am worried I have done the baby some harm.

Has anyone else used this during their pregnancy, or knows whether it is indeed safe to use or not?

I would be grateful for some feedback x

I hope so as that's what I use (I use the roll on). I've never heard of a deodrant being unsafe and the NHS don't say anything so I would think it's fine.

I'm 25 weeks now and baby is doing really well - all great on scans, kicking away and a good clear hb when I hear it at the mw.

I honestly wouldn't worry x

I have been using it without incident for months - then suddenly had a massive reaction to it and my skin was really really really sore!

so I swapped to one that isn't as strong.

I used it all through my pregnancy and dd is now 14 months. She seems fine! Obv I have no idea if some specific difference was made by my using it..... But I do think the whole cosmetics/toiletries toxicity in pregnancy topic is a minefield and really, I just tried to keep to minimal products generally, but wasn't prepared to go without an effective deodorant. Try not to stress - easier said than done.

Step away from the Internet!

I'm 31 weeks with DC2, and now only follow advice found on the NHS website.

Some people are very concerned about the amount of chemicals we are exposed to, and the potential risk to an unborn baby.

Some people feel the only safe way is to live in a tent in a field (away from livestock, obviously) eschewing all elements of modern life.

I prefer to live inside my house, using shower gel and sometimes household cleaning products. I occasionally paint my nails and have my highlights done.

Pregnancy and child rearing is a minefield of mixed opinions. Like I say, the NHS guidance is clear, evidence based, and scare mongers less than some other sources.

I hope this doesn't sound at all judgey - I just favour a common sense approach.

Thankyou all for your help and advice, it is reassuring to hear other peoples views. It's so easy to become paranoid about everything!

You have helped to put my mind at rest,

Many Thanks xxx
