Hi

I am so tired I came to bed at 9, yet an hour and 40 minutes later, I can't sleep as I feel to sick. My eyes hardly stay open, but it's not getting me to sleep :(

Starting to get really frustrated as I'm uncomfortable in bed at the moment too. I'm only 7 ish weeks, so still a few weeks of sickness to suffer. Any suggestions to help night time sickness, or make me sleep?

I'm in the same boat. The nausea and metallic taste builds in my mouth from about 3pm. Then regardless of when I eat I am sick..

Not a lot helps at the moment. Been trying ginger ale today but the nausea is not going away Sad

Tomorrow I am just going to try and eat smaller meals and more often. Hopefully that will help.

Hope your sickness eases soon.

I'm the exact same, my nausea is worst at night. I've found not eating a huge meal and just having a few snacks through the evening helps. Also an extra pillow makes me feel better.

My nausea is worse at night also (although thankfully at 24+ weeks it's not all that often now!).

I found that a glass of milk helped me a lot, well I still felt nauseous but I haven't thrown up once during the pregnancy so it must have done something lol!

I think it depends on how tired you are as well, if I've had a long day that's when I will feel really sick why I try to sleep. I now just try to take a little nap when I need to (if I can that is).

Oh and mints, they help also, not strong ones, I just have the blue pack of soft mints Smile

Hope you feel better soon x

7 weeker here too. Hugs I feel your pain. I've just started a thread about trying to eat but it's unbearable. I definitely feel worse when I'm tired I've figured out. What's worse too is I've totally gone off food Hmm

I second the mints though, I just carry tic tacs around with me

Try not to be over-tired - can you have an afternoon/early evening nap?

Try to have a very light supper, with a small blandish snack before bed.

Sip water throughout the day and evening. You're going to be up in the night piddling anyway, and being well-hydrated helps.

When I was in your state dh used to read to me to distract me from the nausea, and I usually fell asleep while he was reading.

I downloaded an eliminate nausea hypnotherapy track. it really helped to relax me and I would usually doze off whilst it was playing

I suffered night sickness with my first baby and my gp advised I eat nothing after six I clock it did help

mimili · 12/08/2013 12:33

I wish I could not eat after 6pm. I don't finish work til then. Usually home by 7 and eating about 8ish. Finding it so hard.

ILoveAFullFridge · 12/08/2013 14:54

I used to come home from work and go straight to bed. Dh would make supper when he came home and wake me to eat. I could not eat a bite of supper otherwise, and that wd make the morning sickness even worse the following day.

Pg with dc2 & 3, I did not have the luxury of napping in the evenings Sad It was tough, but I don't recall the evening morning sickness being quite as bad those times. Perhaps because I was having a very small supper with the dc at 5ish.

I don't get the not eating after 6pm. Surely that simply means your blood sugar will drop lower and lower, something which always made my ms worse. If anything, constant nibbling and sipping was the best way if keeping it tolerable. I always had crackers (or gingernuts) and water by bed to nibble at as soon as I woke.
