Struggling to eat a proper meal

So I'm I my 7 weeks or so but the last 2 weeks my appetite has hit rock bottom. I normally LOVE my food, but I'm feeling nauseas in the mornings, sometimes being sick but the majority of the time I could quite easily go without foodHmm totally unlike me as I normally need I eat regularly throughout the day. Yesterday for instance, dh ordered a curry and I managed no more than 6 mouthfuls. I know I need to keep hydrated, but all that I seem to be able to manage is pasta, and carbs really. I've totally gone off meat, I think if I turned veggie at the moment I would give a flying f**k. Anyone else feeling the same?

Yep, I'm just approaching 15 weeks and only managed my first proper meal and reasonable portion size today.

Still don't fancy the thought of any strong flavors.

I'm off meat too and having been living off sandwiches and cereal for the past 3 months. Oh, and cake Grin

I hope I'll go back to normal soon, I love my food!

When does the second trimester start tiny?

Yep same here with the strong flavours! I want to eat like a normal person Grin

I could easily live off of pasta and pasta sauce at the moment or pasta salad. I bought. Load of yoghurt a to keep my calcium levels up and only just braved it as I'm scared to throw it up Grin

It starts at 13 weeks, I'm told its meant to start getting better soon!

I can't handle pasta at the moment. We went on holiday to Italy at the start of my pregnancy so now whenever I think of what I ate it makes me feel bleugh!

Bacon does the same for me as pasta for you Confused

I hope things do get better for you tiny Smile

I am 19+4 and I have suffered from food aversion as well as ms. Early weeks were the worst. Between 7 & 11 weeks I lived on about 6 to 15 boiled new potatoes a day and lost nearly a stone in weight. I was struggling to even drink water. I ended up in hospital on a drip and was diagnosed with HG. Things have improved but I am still sick and there are lots if foods I still can't eat . Unfortunately some of us just get really ill compared to others. Hopefully you will be back to eating normally soon. Good luck Op.

Congratulations Op. Flowers

I have also been leaning too much on cake, sandwiches and cereal. Still getting headaches, nausea & fatigue to the point of not being able to function several days a week at 15+4 but not nearly as ill as HG proper - massive sympathy to you LittlePeaPod.

On Friday I was given Cocodamol & Prochlorperazine which have reduced the awfulness to just feeling a bit rubbish, thank God.

Good luck OP

Poor thing. I'm not as bad as you I'm just eating whatever I feel like I can stomach. So if its a few cream crackers with Philly cheese at 7am then a few porridge mouthfuls at 10am so be it. All I ate for dinner Friday was 2 poppadoms! Something is better than nothing I hope it passes soon for you.

Just eat what you can, when you can, it's not going to harm for a few months :) The baby is a parasite and will take all it needs and leave you wanting!!

I couldn't manage much apart from bland beige food at first, lots of rice, pasta, cheese, bread, potatoes. We survived :)

Thanks Isabeller
