My friend is 8 weeks pg and is suffering terrible nausea, sickness, tiredness etc. She has a 14 month old as well and is finding it very difficult to deal with him and herself etc

I would like to help, or at least be able to suggest things that might help her nausea and tiredness stuff.

Have offered to make some freezable meals she can give to her LO (because cooking is just an ordeal for her atm). Any ideas for those either?

Any advice/suggestions welcome!

TIA

The best thing i found that helped (not got rid of) m/s was anything citrusy. I used to eat bags of oranges and put lemon essence on to a tissue and keep sniffing it (sounds weird but it worked for me!) Meals for l/o is a great idea i got pg when my ds was 13 months and it was horrendous to try and cook. The poor mite lived off fruit and sandwiches for months Blush

Cook a fish pie and put veg into the mixture and mash on top and then all she'll have to do is reheat it and not cook anything else to go with it. Maybe fish is a bit smelly, same idea for shepherds pie? Then freeze portions in foil and thaw as needed. Really feel for her hated cooking for ds1 when I was pregnant Sad

Ginger biscuits were good for me and ice lollies, even in December.

vvv you are a star!

meals for the child: cheesy mash? or pasta n sauce, meatballs etc.

can't help with the tiredness though. unless you can look after him for an hour every afternoon so she can have a nap?

what does the qv bit mean anyway?

ah - excellent suggestions.

Now, i have frozen fish - so i cant really cook (from frozen) then freeze and reheat can i? or can i?

Oh, i was formerly Queen Victoria and when i changed my name i added it on the end so people would "recognise" me. Was planning to lose it, but actually, i've grown quite fond of it Grin

I work 3 till 10pm Monday to Thursdays, so am hoping to help her out in the mornings here and there instead.

If the fish isn't cooked you can thaw it, cook it and then refreeze it.

kate100 · 13/06/2006 20:56

trinityrhino, my best friend has MS, I know how tired she gets so I can't imagine how tired you are.
