Curious about a 'twin' practicality

You know how it is when your mind wanders...

I'm just past 9 weeks pregnant and am sure I can feel more than usual in my lower abdomen which made me think of the small possibility of twins...

If I had twins, would I have to have 2 separate cots or could they share?? (Probably a very naive question from a soon to be first time mum)

They share incubators I think.
They could probably share to a point but I expect they would start to disturb each other very soon.

Maybe a cot bed would be good? Would mean that they could sleep together for longer?

Would it increase the risk of SIDS if you let them share do you think? (I'll obviously do some proper research if it does turn out to be twins!)

My 2 didn't share cots, they were in separate incubators in hospital and didn't settle well when we put them in a cot together.

And yes I think FSIDS have highlighted some risks with cot sharing.

I have 1yo twins who shared a cot for 5 months. They didn't really bother each other and I only moved them into their own cots as they couldn't fit in one any more. Even now, their cots are next to each other and I love hearing them 'chatting' to each other in the morning.

twin cobedding is recommended by the nhs, they actually help regulate each other's temperature so if anything the risk of sids reduces :) www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/multiples-and-sleep.aspx

My twins were in special care when they arrived and were put in separate cots .

They shared for a bit at home but were too big by about 2-3 months.

Twin practicality? They are not practical.

At nine weeks pregnant you think 'aah how cute.'

With a nine week old baby you will see mothers of twins out and think 'aaaarghhh, how did she even get out the house?'

I'm 35+5 with twins and planning to put them both in the same cot bed to sleep. You can do it very safely with blankets and careful positioning but we've chosen to put them both in their own sleepyhead bed guard. We do have two cot beds though - both in case the sleeping together doesn't work out, and so initially we can have one upstairs and one downstairs as we haven't got Moses baskets.

My twins are 18 months, they had seperate incubators.

They shared a cot bed, at first they both were swaddled lay head at one side feet at other side of cot, they didn't move, then they slept feet to'feet my two loved it, when they could move they would snuggle up together, when they got to 1 they now sleep in seperate
Cots next to each other and hold hands.

Also with my twins I wasn't any bigger at start or feel them move earlier.
