Im soooo bored. And have nothing to do!!

23+4 and not working (had a temp job but contract ended and now unemployed until madam arrives!)
But im sooo bored in the days. Ive ran out of films/boxsets to watch, DP works all day so have nobody to speak to. All friends work.during days too so nobody to visit/invite round...

Just need some tips on what i.could actually do? Feel like im wasting days just sitting around.waiting.for.the weeks to pass!! Its driving me insane. Somebody mentioned cooking but that bores me to death. Plus the smell of food isnt very appealing atm.. Blerrgghh!!.
I cant decorate cause we're moving next month to a bigger place. Arranged all babies clothes into 'babygrows, pants, pjs' about 20 times. Sick of the sight of them :p.

Anyone else in.same situation? What do you doooooo??!!

Sorry to rant!! ;)

Sad Sad sorry to hear you are bored Sad could you maybe go for a swim or a wander around the shops?

I am at work abd VERY bored! but 6 weeks in and cant tell anyone yet. so have joined mumsnet so I can natter away to my hearts content!

You could always have an ebay session and sell all of your unwanted crap?!

Or what about a short college course to keep your kind occupied?

Or just Jeremy Kyle it up! he he!

Pascha · 09/08/2013 12:08

have a look at some free short courses here Might keep your brain occupied for a bit.

Carole803 · 09/08/2013 12:12

bunintheoven it might not be of interest, but in Bristol there is a place called Bristol Folkhouse which runs lots of different, fun and cheap workshops and courses. I went on a baking bread for beginners one the other day, it was only £20, and it was great. I definitely got my money's worth as I took home a fresh loaf of bread and spare dough to make another loaf and we had Pizza for dinner last night. I wouldn't normally eat that much bread, but it was the novelty of my own creation.

I am looking at some kind of drawing course too as at the moment, my unborn child can drawn better than me.

Perhaps there is something similar where you are. If you tried something arty, or writey, it might be a way to pass some time during the day. and you can usually pick up art materials really cheaply in places like "the Works".

Maybe even photography. That way you can master a camera to record masterpiece images of your new family, not forgetting the odd embarrasing picture of your child to present at their 18th birthday or wedding etc.

Without sounding too hippy, you could also start creating a scrapbook to mark the first year of your little one. It is unlikely you will get much of a chance to do that kind of thing when they arrive and again, most of the materials are cheap enough in places like "the Works"

Hi, I'm in the same position!

I am glad it's like this on the odd crap days I still have.

I spend the day pottering round the house, cleaning, sorting out hits I've meant to do for ages, take the dog for walks, do tea for when DP gets home, do bits in the garden and then some days don't move from the sofa at all!! Do you have any hobbies?

GeppaGip · 09/08/2013 13:24

I can lend you my toddler if you're bored. I would love to sit and stare into space but he wants to be on the go all the time.

Seriously, in my first pregnancy I was also unemployed so I started freelancing from home. By 30 weeks I was so knackered, I just craved sleep all of the time. But I love reading, surfing the net, writing etc and I have so many business ideas all of the time that I never really have time to be bored.

Is there nothing you fancy getting into? I am starting with affiliate marketing at the minute and it just steals my time from under me. Add in the toddler and the house renovation and I crave boredom!!

Oh and once the little one is here you will forget the meaning of the word! Enjoy the peace whilst it lasts.

If you're hoping to breastfeed you could see if there are any bf'ing cages or similar you could go to to get an idea of what to expect. We certainly have groups here who welcome pregnant women.

Otherwise visit the library, go to the cinema, have LONG lie ins and try to enjoy

I'm on maternity leave and still have 6weeks until due date. After watching that kirsties fill your house for free I've spent loads of time online looking at freecycle, gumtree, eBay, Facebook groups getting inspiration for craft projects, baby stuff. If you're moving soon you could try it. Get rid of some stuff or get some for your new place. So far I got a table and sanded and painted it and put new handles for my living room, made some pictures for baby's room, and next I'm going to revamp an old lamp for baby's room. If u like crafty things it can pass a few days.

Join a market research company as a reviewer. One of my friends did this while playing 'housewife', you are effectively a mystery shopper, so get sent to different businesses (she did bookies, pawn brokers, restaurants and hostels) with a defined task (order a 2 course meal / place a bet etc) and then fill in a short survey rating the experience. Expenses are covered and you get paid a small fee too. The more you do the better assignments you get. Google to see what you can find!

Learn to knit! It's very relaxing and addictive once you get into it. You could make some simple things for DC. i've managed to make some baby hats and I'm halfway through a blanket for the buggy. Or you could make yourself a scarf for all those winters walks with DC when you're on maternity leave....

Have you looked at: timebank.org.uk/ ?
You could put in a few volunteer hours now and maybe recoup some help back from others once DC has arrived and you're short of time...

I'm in the same boat! Need to get imaginative, there are some great suggestions on here. Something that has been on my to do list for a while is to print and frame a whole lot of family photos.

BunInMyOven93 · 09/08/2013 22:18
