Hi all,

I'm 31w tomorrow and today my baby made a massive move and turned around. I was lying on my back on the sofa and my mum saw it. It felt as though she was trying to sit upright and push her way out thru my belly button!

That was over 2 hours ago and she hasn't stopped squirming since - she is moving every minute!

I know we're meant to report a reduction in movements but what about an increase? What could cause this movement? Is she distressed? Am I being paranoid?

Btw I haven't eaten anything in that time and have had one cuppa, so nothing out of the ordinary.

TIA Confused

Aha Grin

That is freaky the first time.

Don't worry. DS did an almost total roll over from back to back, to normal position when I was 35 weeks. My whole belly looked like there was a tsnumani happening inside!

If everything feels normal then don't worry too much Smile

(DS also used to 'stretch', so would push his head down on my bloody bladder and his butt up under my bloody lungs . I think it was because it started getting cramped in there and it probably felt nice)!

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy - with only 9 weeks to go you must be getting really excited!

Secondly, there is no such thing as a stupid question - if you are worried about something, it is much better to ask, and be reassured than to fret and worry.

I am not an expert, just a mum of three, but my gut feeling would be that an increase in movements isn't anything to worry about - I expect that someone with more knowledge will be along soon, but if you are still worried, give your midwife a ring - I am sure she will be happy to reassure you.

im 32 weeks and definitely get more movements when baby is in certain positions so thats probably what it is. my mw said when baby has their back to your front it might feel like more movement. I get almost constant movement, at least a movement a minute so it's not unusual!!

Thanks everyone I feel better reading your replies. I've tried calling my midwife but her phone is always off Sad and she often doesn't reply to text messages either [angry{

If it was the other way (less movement) I would have been more concerned. She settled herself down until I spoke to DH on the phone - then she set off again. She likes to hear his voice! Smile
