How to relieve wind

Hello all,

I'm 29 weeks and have woken up today with terrible trapped wind, I can almost feel it pushing up on my lungs, I'm so full of air!! (Could well be psychological!!)

Typically, sitting in the office, I feel like I could release it but by the time I've trundled waddled off to the toilet, it's bubbled it's way back up the tubes and refuses to come out.

What can I try, once home, to relieve myself??

Thanks.

Down a can of coke as quick as possible and shift it with burps? Or do some pregnancy yoga, always gets me trumping like a toddler :)

fizzy pop or soda water, or peppermint tea can help.

Well, when my Dc were babies I'd lie them in their backs and cycle their legs! That always worked! I never have that problem unless I'm in public, though... I bet as soon as you get in the car you'll be farting like a trooper! Grin

Deflatine (rennie)

Warm water (as warm as you can tolerate) with as much sugar in as will dissolve. I had incredibly painful wind for one week only with both pregs (so bad I had to pace around the bedroom for hours in the middle of the night), and it seemed to make some difference. Also peppermint oil in hot water, and peppermint tea. Also, if you can manage, doggy position with your front half (head/boobs) lowered onto your arms, butt in air. No-one said it had to be glamorous! Good luck x

I have had terrible wind (the shame!) non stop, I'm now 17+2 and it it hasn't gone away. I have had a few instances of the really uncomfortable trapped gas and I have found any warm drinks(currently favour half hot water half orange juice) and that seems to really help.
I would also suggest avoiding chewing gum, not sure what it does but I find it definitely makes it worse.

Thanks all.

Feeling much better now after some swaying and warm drinks (and some blatant, but luckily silent, farting that was necessary on the again, luckily, half empty train home!!) Smile

I hope everyone else suffering gets some relief too!!
