Hormonal help?!

I've never been one to suffer with hormones at period time, but since being pregnant have experienced rage like never before and, recently, a lot of negative emotions. Am 20 weeks and just feel like I really don't like the pregnancy (it was planned and we were overjoyed when we found out, but had terrible 24-7 sickness and tiredness etc) and keep feeling very tearful. Yes, we have money worries and am a bit concerned about whether my work will give me extra time off (am primary earner, so can only afford 6 weeks at 90% if they don't) but is it usual to feel so negative?! :(

I enjoy feeling movements and DH is very excited and going to be a SAHD but feel sad that I feel so sad IYKWIM....

well it may not be normal for everyone, but I'm 19+4 and going through exactly the same thing. I am Mrs Grumpy most of the time, and that's the bits when I'm not crying.

I'm used to being really energetic and on top of things, and so can't cope with the tiredness at all, especially in this heat. But there is such a thing as ante-natal depression, and I am starting to wonder whether I've got it. In my case there's a good reason to - my mother didn't come out of having babies that well (8 years of depression followed by a divorce, followed by a breakdown and drinking) so I may be worrying about that on some level.

There on the other hand, it may just be the heat and the fact that the top of my newly fat thighs rub together in it which I HATE.

Sorry to sound off, but no, you're not alone...

Oh yes, have got a nice painful rash where my fat thighs rub together in this heat!

Thanks, nice to know I'm not alone, am chasing work to at least get an answer so I know where I stand! Also, missing having a Mum around as she died when I was 12 and it's taken me a bit by surprise

It's a wierd one isn't it - we're very grateful about this pregnancy too (I'm 40, and had a miscarriage last year) but it does seem to bring up a whole mess of unexpected emotions. DP asked me the other day whether I'd hold how bad I'm feeling against the baby (to which I replied that probably not, as I've got the whole birth to hold against it...Grin)

I'm not surprised you're missing your mum - and probably oddly a bit angry with her for not being there either. And the heat really doesn't help, does it?!
