Hello all,

I'm 29 weeks and since Sunday after a long walk and lugging a heavy Hoover around the house, I've been really uncomfortable.

The muscles at the bottom of my stomach are really sore which is making driving (lifting my legs for the pedals) and even walking really uncomfortable.

I'm hoping it's a temporary result of 'overdoing' it, rather than a normal 29 weeks onwards pregnancy feeling.

Baby is moving well so I'm not worried in that respect.

Any reassurance?

I have had that feeling - it feels like overstretched ligaments, though I am not sure what it is.

From about 28 weeks I have felt quite stiff when I get up from a chair and walk slowly until I get going. Overdoing it - like with the hoover - does seem to make it more pronounced. I have found resting with some gentle movement every hour or so helps quite a bit.

Hope you feel better soon.

You may find you get it every time you strain - long walk, lifting etc. I felt like that a lot in later pregnancy which is why it's recommended to rest regularly and listen to your body. IME if you feel like that you are doing too much and your body is telling you to slow down a bit.

I had the same. You just need to realise you can't push yourself in the same way.
Rest and it should go in a day. Feet up, a couple of biscuits and something good on TV - like Bradley Copper.

I'm 29+4 and I felt the same all day yesterday after taking the dd's to a fun day at the park on Saturday. It has eased off now but now is the time when you should be starting to slow down a bit.

Hello all,

Thanks for the reassurance!

Turns out you were all right, it was temporary and I feel much better today.

It seems I might have to reevaluate my definition if overdoing it. I didn't think that at 29 weeks I would suffer after a walk and a bit of hoovering!! I intend to keep working (with a hefty commute) for some time yet and think I'll have to look after myself a bit better to enable me to do that.

Thanks again all.
