First pregnancy, I had agonising SPD. Had to give up work a month earlier than anticipated (not good as a self-employed person). Ended up in a wheelchair and bedridden for the last six/eight weeks. Pretty sure this is one reason my son was 17 days overdue and induced.

Anyway, pregnant again and symptoms started at six weeks. Now 11. Last time I think they started around 13wks. So, not boding well.
Has anyone tried osteopathy as treatment? Or anything else successful? Have been referred for physio, but not sure how successful it will be.
Recently found out my joints are hypermobile, hence it being more severe in me than most.

Any tips gratefully received! Thanks.

See an osteopath, it's literally the best decision I've made. I couldn't get out of bed it was so bad and after 3 half an hour sessions I can't believe the difference. I wish I hadn't waited so long to start. I also learned I have hyper mobile knees since starting treatment and I've now started really thinking about how I'm standing. Also a body pillow is the only way I can now sleep. Good luck!

I too am seeing an osteopath and it really helps also having deep tissue massage

Thanks Jenna. Trying to start treatment early. Last time, I was very unaware of what the problem was until it was too late. And various medics were too. Will hunt down an osteopath. I remember counting the 32 moves it took to turn from left to right in bed last time. Ah, the joys... Dreading it. Especially the grinding pelvis. Euch!

Thanks too impatient. Keen to hear of decent practitioners in NW England or North Wales.

Today is the first day in about three weeks I have been able to walk without pain, and I am trying out the nexcare maternity support belt. Not sure if its all down to the belt but its certainly helping support my big bump at 33 weeks !
