I ate runny soft boiled eggs throughout all 4 of my pregnancy's and they're now all clarting about in the livingroom as large as life and twice as natural!

Don't stress too much about all the 'advice'. Moderation is the key.

I read yesterday that we should ONLY have pasteurised milk and I have been panicking because I've been using semi-skimmed....

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/08/2013 17:45

Erm, unless you've specifically bought unpasteurised, fresh-from-the-udder milk from a fairly specialist retailer, your semi-skimmed (full fat, and skimmed) milk will be pasteurised.

(Pasteurised means heat treated, but not as much as that foul UHT stuff)

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/08/2013 17:46

And congrats on your pregnancies OP & Writer. Good luck to you both!

urtwistingmymelonman · 04/08/2013 17:49

TeddyPickleStick · 04/08/2013 17:52

It's wrong of me to giggle at you calling yourself a tit isn't it. Grin

Madratlady · 04/08/2013 19:34

I really want toast and pate now :(

OhDearNigel · 04/08/2013 19:37

Throw away your books and trust your instincts

Tiredemma · 04/08/2013 19:38

Look- chill out.

I found out I was PG with DC3 when I was 24 weeks pregnant.

Until then I had-
Drank Koppaberg every weekend (and lots of it)
Skied in France and fell over numerous times.
ate Fois Gras like it was my last meal.
taken numerous strong pain killers- including codeine for various ailments.
did the 5.2 diet so basically starved myself of food twice a week for 6 weeks
ran 6 miles 3 x a week to the point where I could barely breath. I must have depleted the oxygen going to my baby.

Nothing I can do about all this now. I can stress about how much damage I could have caused but where would that get me.

Don't read the daily mail. Just chill and enjoy your pregnancy.

Imagine you're on the continent OP. in France or Italy. You'll be fine:£

BigBoPeep · 04/08/2013 19:43

I ate runny eggs, brie, pate, you name it, throughout pregnancy = healthy, huge baby who's 16mo now without a single illness so far Grin don't worry!

Secretswitch · 04/08/2013 19:48

I had my last baby at 42. I think one consultant might have referred to me as a geriatric mother..Before I knew of this pregnancy I skied with reckless abandon, hopped in and out of a few hot tubs, and ate yummy runny Brie.
My dd was born healthy as can be..
Worry is part of being pregnant, but please try not to let it consume you..

PrincessKitKat · 04/08/2013 19:55

Madratlady - there are two packs in my fridge that you're welcome to!

PickleStick giggle away. I have noticed you reassuring crazy newbies across the pregnancy thread today. Thanks to you and everyone who takes the time to put our minds at rest Thanks

DH has taken the book away. I expected the weight of responsibility to descend when babyKK arrived, not a week after the BFP...!

princess, dont fret. I found out I was pg with DD when completely p*ssed up after a crazy fun night. Id also been on antibiotics for a week and the GP couldnt tell me if it would effect the baby.

She just finished her GCSEs and is predicted As and A*s across the board, is gorgeous and perfect.

Madratlady · 04/08/2013 20:03

Princess I also pregnant and avoiding pate, although I'm sure I'd be fine having some as a one off.
