I'm so upset :( feel so crap about myself and was before bing told this tbf but now feel even worse. I'm 33 weeks and put on 2 stone 1lbs, anyway went to doc yday and he weighed me and stated my weight gain was excessive for my starting weight, height and I should have been aiming t 2 stone altogether. I feel so awful about myslf right now, don't want to go out crying all time just feel hideous. I started at 7 stone 7

You were quite low weight to start with, so of course you need to put on a good bit! Half of that will be baby, placenta, blood, boobs etc anyway. Your body naturally wants to lay down some weight reserves for breastfeeding.

Your weight was very low to begin with at 5'2.
Your body probably needed at bit more than most.. Gosh that means you are still not even 10 stone
I started at 9 and a half at 5'3 and a size 10/12 and was considered healthy. I have put on just over a stone and a half at 26 weeks which is probably more than average but I am not excessivly big. I think you needed that weight gain considering your starting weight. You need the strength x

It really gets my goatvwhen I keep hearing of docs and mw telling people they are putting too much weight on or are obese.

I struggled in my first tri as I had to nibble a lot more food an I usually do cos of the nausea, and kept having to remind myself I wasn't being excessive.

I started off tecnically overweight and was a little worried at my booking in appt, but my mw said nothingabout my weight. She was more concerned about my way of life and whether I was healthy, which she was pleased with.

I have slowed down on eating to my pre-pregnancy rate, and so I am more focussed on making sure I eat well, even when I am not hungry.

I haven't weighed myself, and I don't intend to until just before I drop.

Every woman is different and (quoting anothre mumsnet forumer) unless you are eating kfc for breakfast, don't give the scales another thought. Just enjoy the pregnancy and keep your strength and positive mojo up.

I'm the same height as you and the healthy range for that height pre-pregnancy is 7s7 up to 9s10 so you were right at the very very bottom of it to begin with, almost underweight.

I think that around 2stone is the average gain for healthy weight people but the lower your starting weight the more you should gain and the higher the less you should - I heard 25-35lbs is the range roughly (2stone being 28lbs). As you're right at the bottom I would say you want to gain closer to the 35lbs which is 2 and a half stone.
