So I started with what I though was a heat rash between my boobs about two months ago.

It has now spread all over my thighs, stomach, boobs, hell even my elbows. It is hellishly itchy, disturbing my sleep and I'm worried about scars as I'm covered in open sores from the itching. I'm only 22 weeks and feel like I can't enjoy my pregnancy. it feels like my nausea/ Hyperemesis has stopped only for this to start.

Have bought some Grandpas pine tar soap, taking piriton and lying covered in cold flannels but it just gets worse everyday. Arrrrgghhhhhhhhhh!

Sorry, just wanted a rant really. On the plus side my little monkey is kicking so frequently now and its hard to be too grumpy knowing he's there. Smile

I had to google this as I hadn't heard of it before, you poor thing Flowers hope it improves for you.
I have a kind of heat rash between my boobs at the moment :(

everythinghippie29 · 03/08/2013 18:47

Oh no! I hope it stays as heat rash for you!

The rest started as little insect looking bites elsewhere, now its a blanket of bumps.

Its horrible being so itchy! I'm a right grumpuss at the moment! Grin

Oh that sounds horrid you poor thing, is there nothing the doc can prescribe?

Ginismyfriend · 03/08/2013 18:54

Oh it's awful, I got it at about the same number of weeks and was utterly miserable. Total sympathies for you. But it really does disappear like magic when you have the baby and I ended up being given some steroid pills which helped a lot in the meantime.

I completely feel your pain :( I have a mystery autoimmune disorder (doctors can't decide quite on what it is so I have no diagnosis :( ) which means I am quite often covered in hellishly itchy hives and wheals, and my pregnancy hormones have sent my life-long eczema spiralling out of control.
I have found one thing that helps soothe my skin - Aveeno cream. A little pricey maybe, but it's made out of an oatmeal formula and I found it amazing for my skin. It soothes my itching almost immediately and also reduces the redness.

Sorry to hear you're going through this. It's not fun being itchy all the time is it :( Flowers

Oh bless all of you with chronic itching! I have a totally new appreciation for anyone with eczema or similar skin conditions.

It is truly awful feeling itchy and trying not to! Will try the cream you suggest and hopefully it will peak and then clear itself. Grin

Feel better for my rant!

Aveeno can be cheaper on amazon. We get it for my daughter's eczema. Aloe Vera gel might be good. Again, not cheap, but cooling and good for itching. I hope it improves.

WipsGlitter · 03/08/2013 21:39

I had this. Horrendous. I didn't scar and steroid cream used very sparingly cleared it up. Oh the itching...

ovenbun · 03/08/2013 22:14

pooR you! have you tried a little bicarbonate of soda in your bath, works wonders for itching xx

BungleGeorgeAndZippy · 03/08/2013 22:46

This sounds horrible, I've read that pine tar soap thing really works, so hopefully it won't be long til it's calmed down for you.

MrsSpencerReid · 03/08/2013 22:51

Nothing helpful to add except you can get aveno on prescription, hope you all feel better soon Smile

WipsGlitter · 04/08/2013 08:14

Believe me - avens and pine tar soap won't touch this. Get to a doctor.
