Sharing the love from a usually rather grumpy preggo

Hi everyone

As a normally rather bad tempered/ whingy/ misery guts pregnant type (sickness throughout, PGP, terrible swelling, heartburn, overheating etc. etc.) I just thought I'd share my experience of a rather lovely side of being visibly (36 weeks) pregnant.

Today I had to take a train from Yorkshire to Devon and have been dreading it thinking about being cramped in close quarters with other people on a warm day feeling very tired and sweaty and horrid. The train was packed and my reserved seat wasn't actually reserved so I thought I'd go see about paying the extra £20 for a weekend upgrade to first class. Unfortunately I had the wrong kind of ticket so it wasn't possible. However, the lovely guard told me to just sit in first class anyway and went and got my suitcase from the other carriage. He also spoke to the next guard coming on in Birmingham to make sure I could stay there. They then brought me drinks and snacks, all for free and arranged to be in the right place to help me with my bag when I got to my stop. It was the most lovely, relaxing journey I've ever had and all down to some unnecessarily kind people and my rather large belly.

Hurray for people being nice! I was just wondering if other people have had similarly lovely experiences as it's definitely made me feel much more positive about a grotty pregnancy than I was before! (Just to clarify, I've always felt positive about having a baby, just not so much the getting to that point!)

Either way people, get on the train, it's great!

Isn't it lovely when pregnancy shows you the best in people?! This often continues to be seen when you have a small baby. Enjoy!

Sounds wonderful, what lovely guards and lucky you for getting first class treatment on your journey.
Unfortunately at the moment I just look tubby so the perks of pregnancy haven't kicked in, well, apart from my family being extra sweet Smile

Aw yeah it was so lovely. Anytime I'm so glad it continues!

Mogz maybe shove a pillow up there if you're going on a train :). I just couldn't believe how kind they all were!

Sounds amazing :) I'm 23 weeks gone and baby loves to play keepie up with my bladder. I was walking past a shopping centre with my DP yesterday when he (baby, not DP Grin) decided to kick me, hard, in the bladder, prompting a dash to the toilet in the shopping centre. It was half six at night so the shopping centre should have been shut (all the shops were) but we were able to nick in anyway. So I got to the toilets (there's a women's, men's and disabled section) and tried the door and it was locked. Tried the men's, also locked. I was about to try the disabled toilet when the cleaner popped her head out and told me that the toilets were all closed and she was just finishing cleaning the disabled toilet. She then noticed my bump and went "oh hen, I didn't even notice you were pregnant! In you go, I'll get in when you're finished!" I was really grateful, but even more so when she cleaned the toilet for me before leaving. Lovely woman :) and I really appreciated when someone moved away from me to have a cigarette yesterday. Usually people just light up and I have to be the one to bugger off. I thought that was lovely :)
