Is it normal to feel this tired and uninterested in wanting to do anything?! Even the tiniest of things are too much effort at the moment Hmm

IME yes. The tiredness can be appalling in early pregnancy. Listen to your body and rest and go to bed early where you can.

Even hanging the washing out or doing simple paperwork is an effort. Can it be like this all the way through the pregnancy?

No. It should reduce towards the end of the first trimester. I was then ok until week 38 when I felt very tired again.

It's really hard because you just have to keep going. I'm 10 weeks with #2 and I'd forgotten how tiring it is. I'm finding it harder this time because I have a 20 month old to look after too when all I want to do is nap!

Try and get to bed early. It really does help.

I'm 7 weeks and it feels like it's gotten worse, EVERYTHING is a massive effort.. add an inconsiderate DH and in laws and you are living my wonderful life

Still got a bit of a way to go then! Oh and sleep disturbance?!?! I've always managed to sleep through but now....no! Hmm

Just remember, it won't last forever even though at the time it feels like it will. And we have get a lovely baby at the end of it!

lozza22 · 31/07/2013 22:29

Yep its normal and expected. Im on number 3 and dont get a second when im not doing somthing so its all consumingly tiring.
My dp is an ass when it comes to understanding how tired i feel and will not lift a finger to help out so im hearing ya chloe!
I cant wait till these days are all distant memories cos it does pass pretty quick or else why would we do it more than once :-)

I was the same. Apart from constant heartburn, that was the only early symptom I had. I would come home from work, have a bite to eat and fall asleep in front of telly at about 7pm. A few hours later I would just crawl upstairs to go to bed. I was absolutely knackered. It did pass though, at about 10 weeks I was feeling great and this then continued until 36 weeks when I was massive and just wanted the wee man out Grin

ChairOfTheBored · 01/08/2013 08:11

I was exactly the same. 15 weeks with our first and I spend weeks 6-13ish is a daze. Just starting to feel a bit better now (not so bold as to say glowing yet, but less sick, and able to stay awake past 20:30 is all progress in my eyes!)

Take it easy, your body is growing some amazing stuff in those first few weeks, no wonder you've not got much energy for anything else!

Well I think last night proved it. I had dinner, and a bath. Relaxed on the sofa at 8:30 and by 9:15 I was out for the count. Poor dh came in from work and had tried calling me, and made loads of noise apparently when he came in but zombie here slept all the way through until he woke me to go to be at 11:30 then I slept through until 8am! Smile After doing 12 hours at work though I am shattered Hmm
