I'm 9 weeks 4 days and already my tummy is poking out! I know the baby is minute but my waistline has definitely changed. I'm normally a size 10, all my work clothes are now really tight and i'm struggling to find things to wear. Is it too early to buy maternity clothes? Or should i just buy some things in larger sizes? It's my first baby so i'm a bit clueless at the moment! And where is a good/not too expensive place to buy maternity clothes?

Thanks x

You can get belt expanders which will make your clothes last a bit longer? I think they're called belly belts? you just need a top which covers your zip!

An elastic band looped through a button hole and hooked onto the button will buy you a few more weeks in trousers you already own.

Its not too early to get maternity clothes. I found under bump styles fitted well at this stage. Just don't go mad and get lots as you may find these uncomfortable later and have to buy over bump or different styles.

Normal clothes with elastic waist bands are good in a bigger size and could last a while, and joggers/yoga style trousers I found lasted well.

You can get elastic bump bands from Asos which are very stretchy, they will hold your trousers up with the button undone and cover any gaps, and also hold your tummy in a bit if you're not telling people yet.

I also found tops with bubble hems were good for disguising!

Oh yes, bubble hem tops are great as baggy enough not to reveal tummy podge bump but fitted enough not to look like a tent. Also tunics & dresses with leggings work quite well if thats more your style.

As for shops, try H&M, Next & New Look. All have reasonably priced basics.
