I know how important they are but how many should I do? How often?

I do three sets a day - 10 quick, 10 hold for 6 seconds (I'm aiming for 10 second hold though)

Do them anywhere, driving is good, or when drying your hands after going to the loo.

Depending on how pregnant you are this may be a lost cause though, but definitely start as soon as you've given birth.

I'm 15+2 and I have been doing pelvic floor exercises since about 6 weeks, I just don't always remember to do them as often as I should. Some days I only remember 1 or 2 sets.

That sounds pretty good to me! My pelvic floor went completely during both pregnancies, plus a 2nd and then 3rd degree tear. But they definitely work, and I know it's something I'll be doing for the rest of time.

I've just been discharged from a physiotherapist actually, for supervised pelvic floor exercises to check I was doing it right. Really helpful.

I don't think it's ever too late to start thouhh the earlier the better. After birth is really important too.

I found I couldn't do mine out and about, like at my desk, because pull a wincing type face whenever I do them Grin Made it very obvious Grin

At my ante natal class they said pregnant women should do about 50 per day!!! I've been doing 5 or so after each time I go for a wee so I spread them out throughout the day and remember to do them. Don't actually stop yourself weeing though, it is bad for you, do when emptyGrin

You have to try to do them as much as you can. When you got strong pelvic floor you are able to push your baby out quicker, are less likely to tear and less likely to have an assisted delivery plus you recover much quicker. so when ever you remember do them!

oh and is never too late to start. everything helps!
