Does anyone know of any good websites or books that are aimed at fathers-to-be?

I don't think my hubby really understands what's going on inside me, and doesn't understand how I can feel so shattered and have cramps when the 'baby' is still so minute.

I try and explain it to him but I sometimes wonder if he thinks I'm making it up Smile

I think it would just help if he saw something 'official' that explained why we feel the way we do and will tell him to just accept my hormone inspired mood swings instead of arguing with me Grin

Could you download an app. I've a couple on my iPhone. They are very good, loads of info in them.

my hubby really recommends pregnancy for men by mark woods. informative but funny.

Yonionekanobe · 28/07/2013 13:10

DH found Pregnancy for Men: the whole nine months useful when I was pregnant with DD and is rereading for DC2.

Yonionekanobe · 28/07/2013 13:10

X-post - same book!

BroodyAndMoody · 28/07/2013 13:20

DH also read pregnancy for men, he found it really useful and has now bought the second book, Babies and Toddlers for Men. He has also bought a book called Commando Dad.

He reads me a section from one of the books every night! There is a danger of him being more prepared than me..... But it all certainly helped. He has just said that he really didnt get it to start with, but the books have helped.

And congratulations xx

Loads of free baby apps, some are geared more towards dad ( sorry, cant remember names though) also sign him up to nhs weekly alerts as they were a godsend for dh. He ended up educating me a fair bit and was very irritating with his daily helpful tips I.e trying to force a banana on me every meal time as he'd read they were good for me!

You can sign yourself and DP up for the NHS pregnancy emails- you get weekly info about whatever stage you're at. Your email will be tailored for mums-to-be and his will be aimed at dads. My DP found it really helped understand what I've been going through and he started to help with more housework afterwards too- can't be bad ;)

Writerwannabe83 · 29/07/2013 17:56

That sounds brilliant - how do I do it??

Google "NHS pregnancy" and then choose the first hit that comes up, that takes you to the NHS pregnancy home page. When I go there, a pop-up thingy comes up and you can click 'sign up now' for pregnancy emails. That should do it :)
